I stopped as Gordain’s hand found mine. Reaching the short distance between our seats, he gave my fingers a squeeze, and it should have felt reassuring, it had certainly been intended as friendly, yet heat painted my cheeks. This book begins with a moment from Vines’s second book, Love Most, Say Least (by the way, another great book in this series), when Gourdain, James’s (the hero from LMSL) best friend and a military pilot, saves James’s sister, Ella, from their raving uncle. From the moment, there is a driving, intense chemistry between the two. However, there are a couple of issues: (1) Ella is his best friend’s sister and (2) Ella is younger than Gourdain (her 17 to his 22). For most of the first part of this story, these two engage in the unrequited dance of chemistry, as Ella doubts that Gourdain could be attracted to her and Gourdan struggles with a personal crisis and issues related to this past (not to mention his worry over her age). However, as in any good romance, that dance turns into something more, and the two must make a choice about their future together. I didn’t see it in the display.” The woman scowled. “I specifically asked if you had any scones, and you said you were out.”

Normally I would hate that. I want love, love and more love. But you know what? As a reader, I *needed* Struan's story. I needed to read about his suffering and his anger and his defiance. The British author Jolie Vines is well known for her interesting and entertaining style of writing that instantly grabs the reader. Mostly writing contemporary romance novels, she really sets herself apart, giving her readers exactly what they want, while saying something unique in the process. This has seen her become a household name for many around the world, establishing a brand that is very much her own. Drawing many influences from a range of different fellow authors too, she’s definitely an inspired novelist with a lot to offer. Developing her approach to the genre of romance over the years, she came to be a household name for many the world over. Using a lot of inspiration from her own life, she would create stories that felt wholly real, really capturing the imaginations of the readers. Currently still writing to this very day, she’s got a lot more to come, as she continues to write from her home in South West of England with both her husband and son. Was I entertained? Not really. Did I like the story? Yes, more the premise. Would I read the other book in the series? No, I am not sure if I personally connect with the authors style and that’s more of a me thing. I may need to read another book to see.

A mind-blowing kiss, a phone call he never thought he wanted... Ally is about to fall in love. Twice. The sighting of the other McRae's warmed my heart as well as the family that you could see building between the boys. They may not always like their family, but they will always love them. I was attached and felt like I was there on the island experiencing these events with the characters. II read into the early morning hours because I couldn't put this down. Ella, I’m Gordain. Your brother sent me. I’m coming for ye by helicopter. Keep out of your uncle’s sight. I’ll be landing soon. I really enjoyed this book and although the haven’t read the previous books in the series, I had no trouble; reading this one as a stand alone. This is Gordain and Ella’s story and it was a captivating one. Gordain is best friend’s with Ella’ brother James and he comes to her rescue when James asks him to help Ella escape from their evil uncle Richard. Gordain's military career is in freefall after a night he doesn't remember. His burning need for his best friend's younger sister is surely a knee-jerk reaction to his problems. He should walk away, yet he cannot say no to the lass.

Ruin is very different from Jolie Vines other books. It's dark and mysterious and not at all a fun, happy read. The writing was excellent, the setting of Scotland with a broody hero my favorite, and bringing the McRaes into the story made me one happy reader. Aside from those things, this is not your typical book by this author. Claiming the child and becoming a worthy father will take everything Ally's got, but he won't stop there. He wants Scarlet too. Yet a split-second decision will endanger his life, and the two people he loves the most could be lost to him forever.Initially brought out on the Kindle again, this would first come out in 2019 on the 26th of September to an already eager audience. This would also be the fifth book in the ‘Marry the Scot’ series of novels, featuring another passionate romance in the long-running collection. Featuring its own self-contained narrative, it’s the last in this particular series, although there are arcs and characters brought over from previous novels. Each of the novels features different members of the McRae family, with this featuring Ally, who is the youngest brother amongst them all. Many of Vines’ previous series are also integrated into each other, making her work feature different cameos for her long-time fans and readers. The third standalone instalment in the Marry the Scot contemporary romance series takes you away to big love in the splendour of the Scottish Highlands. You'll adore this modern-day hot Scot and his delicate and determined musician. I really enjoyed this third installment in Jolie Vines’ Marry the Scot series. The hero of this book is Gordain, younger brother of Callum, the male lead in book one. He’s also the tattooed helicopter pilot best friend to James from book two... That is the installment that laid the groundwork for this romance. It is where Gordain met James’ younger sister, Ella, and helped her escape from the clutches of her evil uncle Richard. From an early age, Jolie lived in a fantasy world and is never happier than when plot dreaming. Jolie loves her heroes to be one-woman guys. Whether they are a huge Highlander, a touch starved earl, or a brooding pilot, they will adore their loved one until the end of time.
