The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center sees over 100 cases of xylitol toxicity annually. According to the center, dogs ingesting significant amounts of items sweetened with xylitol could develop a fairly sudden drop in blood sugar, resulting in depression, loss of coordination and seizures.”

With smaller concentrations of xylitol, the onset of clinical signs could be delayed as much as 12 hours after ingestion,” according to a 2006 press release from the center.

How to order Vet Aquadent?

It’s easy to forget that oral health is important for your pets too. Having clean teeth and gums not only makes them healthier, it can protect them from infections too. ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: per 5 mL (1 teaspoon): Erythritol 100mg, Inulin 25mg, Pomegranate extract (Punica granatum) 1.75mg This plaque that stays on the teeth long enough then hardens into tartar. When the tartar is above the gumline it is visible and your vet can remove it quite easily during a professional dental clean. It is the tartar below the gumline which presents problems. FR3SH™ technology, a combination of 3 natural ingredients, Erythritol, a sweetener, that has a cooling, freshening effect in the mouth, Inulin, a natural prebiotic to help control bad breath from digestive origins and Pomegranate, a natural antioxidant.

Vet Aquadent has been developed by veterinary experts who specialise in dental products to maintain good oral hygiene for dogs and cats. It is a palatable and refreshing solution, containing chlorhexidine and xylitol (which limits the dental tartar and plaque from forming in the first place) and helps to fight your pet's bad breath. Add it to your pet’s drinking water. What are the benefits of using Vet Aquadent? The product is called CET AquaDent, and it’s a drinking water additive for dogs and cats. It’s supposed to help keep their breath fresh in conjunction with brushing. Cats: 2.5 mL (½ tsp) of solution into a clean bowl and add 250 mL (1 cup) of fresh water to the bowl each day Vet Aquadent Freshis a flavoured and refreshing solution to help fight your pet's bad breath. Vet Aquadent contains chlorhexidine, which has antiseptic properties and is scientifically proven to prevent plaque and tartar build-up. This also helps against your dog's or cat's bad breath. In general, the recommended dose is six millilitres of formula per 250 millilitres of water, but always ask your vet if you’re not sure. Plaque and tartar, if left to build up, can cause bacteria to move down into your pet’s tummy. This could make them get ill, so it’s much better to avoid the risk by helping them keep their mouths nice and clean. Water additives are recommended by the WSAVA* Global Dental Guidelines as part of home care for dental hygiene. For dogs and cats aged more than six months old, simply add 1ml of Vet Aquadent to every 100ml of water. It is advised to replace drinking water with fresh water every 24 hours, even if it has not all been consumed. Use fresh diluted solution only, as directed above. There might be a slight deposit at the bottom of the bottle. This will not affect the quality of Vet Aquadent. Simply shake bottle well before use.

The signs of dental disease in dogs and cats include: broken teeth, loose teeth, bad breath, a painful and bleeding mouth, a refusal to drink or eat and drooling. Bad breath can be unpleasant for dog and cat owners. When your pet has a healthy mouth and healthy teeth, bad breath will not be a problem. A good tip is to brush your pet’s teeth regularly. Helps maintain fresh breath and supports healthy teeth and gums by controlling plaque in dogs and cats This tartar build up below your pet’s gum line causes inflammation and can damage the important structures which support the teeth and also cause infection. When the disease reaches this level, dogs and cats can go on to experience serious problems with their teeth, and often pain.

What are the benefits of using Vet Aquadent?

Note: Does not contain xylitol – small amount found in previous formulation – even though no issues with the amount of xylitol) While toothbrushing is the gold standard for managing oral hygiene, some pets do not tolerate toothbrushing, cats especially.
