MTFBWY #7: Star Wars Books Editor Teases Future, Your Favorite Book by Siegel, Lucas on ComicBook.com ( March 11, 2015) (archived from the original on March 11, 2017) Dark Disciple is an Adult novel within the Disney Star Wars Canon. To put it into timeline perspective, this book falls after the novel, Catalyst and just prior to the movie, Revenge of the Sith. Golden launched the TSR Ravenloft line in 1991 with her first novel, the highly successful Vampire of the Mists , which introduced elven vampire Jander Sunstar. Golden followed up Vampire with Dance of the Dead and The Enemy Within . In September of 2006, fifteen years to the month, The Ravenloft Covenant: Vampire of the Mists enabled Jander Sunstar to reach a whole new audience. Emotionally charged . . . Christie Golden does a wonderful job of capturing the characters." --Roqoo Depot

In conclusion, I recommend reading the Wookieepedia summary of the book instead of actually reading it. Emotionally charged. . . Christie Golden does a wonderful job of capturing the characters.” —Roqoo Depot Younglings whose parents, unwisely, chose to ally with the Republic.” Gone was Dooku’s civilized purr. His gaze settled on Nya. She didn’t flinch from his scrutiny, but she couldn’t stifle a soft growl. He looked her up and down, then dismissed her as of no further interest. “I’ve been monitoring your transmissions, General, and I know that this little chat is being sent to the Jedi Council. So let me make one thing perfectly clear.” The clone lifted a finger to his lips, but the warning was unnecessary. Nya’s sharp teeth were clenched, her fur bristled, and her entire being was focused on the count’s loathed face, but she knew better than to speak. Golden especially excelled at bringing Ventress's biting but appealing personality to life. . . . She's very much a woman trying to find her way, and Dark Disciple adds nuance." -- NerdistAs a self-confessed Ventress lover, she was the highlight of the story for me. From the tough-as-nails bounty hunter to the determined mentor to the loving woman, Asajj stole the show for me personally. And while there were times when her gentleness and caring for Quinlan Vos startled me, I’m also old enough to know that even the most cynical, most bitter person has someone who can reach their heart no matter how hard they try to stop them from doing so. He appeared on a small screen near the top of the main viewport. A satisfied, cruel smirk twisted Dooku’s patrician features. Dark Disciple is specifically based on eight scripts for unfinished episodes of The Clone Wars. With that show somewhat infamously cut short, it’s no secret many huge storylines were in the works, in various stages of production, when the show ended, and following the Son of Dathomir comic -- plus a couple of storylines released in rough, animatic form -- this is the second time we’re getting to see one of these stories completed in another medium.

The choices for the two main characters in Dark Disciple are very strong for different reasons. On The Clone Wars, Asajj Ventress’ path from sadistic villain, to betrayed disciple seeking revenge, to bounty hunter and then to maybe, just maybe, someone finding her own heroism was one of the show’s best overall story arcs. There was simply too much potential with Ventress to not ever see her again, making it very satisfying to have her take the spotlight in such a big way again here. Award-winning author Christie Golden has written over thirty novels and several short stories in the fields of science fiction, fantasy and horror. She has over a million books in print.Nya smelled the change in his sweat. He was lying. For a moment, she spared compassion for him. What had his life been like when he was a youngling? There had been no one to give him hugs or tell stories, no loving parental hands to soothe childhood’s nightmares. Only brothers, identical in every way, who had been raised as clinically as he. Teach Him Anger: Both Ventress and Dooku approach training Vos in the Dark Side of the Force, by helping/forcing him to embrace his rage. I certainly don't need romance in my Star Wars, but for me, it was more about watching Ventress being able to let her guard down and open up to someone.
