I guess what I mean is that this is a very sweet romantic story that went straight to my heart and doesn't plan to leave too soon! I won't say too much, as it would spoil the story, but there is a plot twist at the end of this book, one that I was not expecting. But when a mortar blast outside the hospital where he worked as an orthopedic surgeon sent him home from Afghanistan with devastating injuries, the dilapidated cabin he'd inherited from his grandfather seemed as good a place to regroup as any. As the British spring weather is incredibly temperamental, it’s lovely to dip into a bit of American sunshine with this book.

Amber: I’ve been sucked into Bully Romance lately and I LOVED Khai Hara’s Royal Crown Academy series…book 1 was AMAZING! The ‘Stony Bay’ series is continued with a companion novel titled The Boy Most Likely To, which was published in 2015 and features characters from My Life Next Door. Yet, what winds up happening in this situation is that Nan refuses to speak to Sam and even after Sam finally gets the backbone and guts to force Nan to speak to her, they have a short conversation and end their friendship of twelve years just like that. I dislike the fact that the "unexpected event" was so obviously implemented there with no connection whatsoever with the story line, just to try to mix things up a little.

Seeing Samantha fit into this equation was nothing short of entertaining and only increased my respect for her. She was also such sweet, gentle character that was focused on doing the right things and making the right choices. On the other hand, three pages descriptions of what your main heroine is wearing on her first day in school just for the sake of describing is not a good move.

There's Sam, who I ached for, because she grows up with the pressure to be perfect from a mother who doesn't know the definition of fun. Avid baseball fans (or not-baseball-fans like me) will know that after three strikes, you are out and boy, was this book out – out of my shelf, out of my life, out. Title: The Nowhere Emporium Series: N/A Author: Ross Mackenzie Genre: Middle-Grade, Fantasy Publication: March 5th 2015, Kelpies Pages: 280 Pages, Paperback Source: Thank you to Netgalley for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review! Over multiple occasions, Samantha is introduced to the other members of the Garrett family and is later asked by Mrs.

Her relationship with Jase helps her grow into a person that is more aware of the world and less reluctant to make mistakes.
