So why release Left Dot? A limited release creates an opportunity for Titleist to learn what it needs to learn. The Pro V1 and ProV1x, as a whole, are the best balls in golf, so it’s hard to say, ‘How are you going to possibly make that ball better when it’s already the best?’ There has been a change in the 2023 Pro V1x dual-core design, with the inner core increasing center volume by 44%, from 1” to 1.13” in size. This works in concert with the high gradient, as the larger and softer center helps to drive down long-game spin and increase stability through the air.

As with other balls in the Pro V1 family, the Pro V1x Left Dash offers a thin urethane cover. Greenside spin should meet expectations for the category. Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash – Consistency Pro V1x was made for an increased spin on air. High spin often becomes an obstacle to gaining height. The main difference between the two is that Pro V1x Left Dash is made for a higher launch with a low spin, while Pro V1x is for a high spin. Both are made for a good distance, but the spinning rate is different. Whereas the standard Pro V1 was made for mid-launch and mid-spin.The score is the highest we’ve recorded so far with the Excellent rating for compression consistency pushing it past the others. Mid-Irons: No test with left dash, but if the wedge and driver test is a hint, I'm guessing it's lower spinning than the TP5x as well (but more than the AVX?) Have found the performance characteristics to be exactly as Titleist describes.Performance bears a striking resemblance to perhaps my favorite ball of all time, the Nike Tour Accuracy DD.Definitely has the heavy feel and louder impact sound that one would associate with a higher compression ball. It reminds me of Callaway's tour balls before Chrome Soft in that regard. While I've found the short game spin sufficient for the current conditions at my home club, I can see where most PGA Tour guys would want more spin than this has for the green firmness and speed they typically see.Ball does feel heavy at impact, but it also has the "heavy" flight characteristics often more associated with the V1. Head winds and cross winds just don't seem to bother the LD that much for how high it wants to fly.Don't notice much difference in the feel off the putter, but I do use a White Hot Pro insert which tends to make balls feel and sound more similar than milled putters typically do.While I was concerned about flyers on short irons with this ball, it's only happened once so far and I think it was my fault more than that of the ball. I can get a bit shallow and sweep-ish with short irons at times, and I think that's why I got 15 bonus yards out of one 8 iron from a clean and dry lie.Durability is exceptional, perhaps the best I've ever encountered in a urethane covered ball. It's as long as anything else out there. With that in mind and some allowances for distribution strategies, there are three potential outcomes for Left Dot Left Dot comes to retail – If the response is positive, if golfers identify differences and benefit from them, then retail is a possibility. A year from now is likely the best-case scenario but it could happen.

But I’ve also become incredibly confused about ball choice — so confused that I can’t remember the last time I bought a golf ball (mostly playing OP’s that I find).. I’ll be 70 in a few months and driver swing speed is probably in the mid-80s. I didn’t start playing until in my 40s so I never went through the “hit as hard as you can and we’ll fix direction later” phase and I’ve never had much stopping power on the greens. Even so, I managed to get handicap index down to its lowest point yet (12.3) earlier this year.

We should also note that, as a small percentage of the market ball, the Left Dash isn’t produced in the same quantities as other Titleist offerings. With smaller quantities likely come tighter tolerances. True Price Too many, not enough or just right, six is still a lot and it does risk putting a strain on retailers and further confounding consumers, most of whom won’t be in the Left Dot wheelhouse. In this section, we detail the consistency of the Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash. It’s a measure of how similar the balls in our sample were to one another, relative to all of the models we’ve tested to date.
