Description

The elves like to talk in rhyme. Could you try to have a rhyming conversation (or write a rhyming conversation between some elves)? This is a collection of stories about mischievous kids learning the error of their ways, but it's also about sharing the true spirit of Christmas and realising that sometimes, things aren't quite as they first appear... Have you ever heard of Ebenezer Scrooge? The most miserly, miserable Christmas-hating miser from that very famous old book? The man who is more BAH HUMBUG than HO HO HO?

Sehr gelungen!a few vague things that bothered me: the bully who is a bully For A Good Reason and the gamer who does nothing but play games and ignore the real world. i'm someone who was bullied, and my boyfriend is a gamer, and i'm honestly tired of seeing things oversimplified like this. sure, you can see bullies as complicated people with lives you don't know about and hardships that make them who they are. but that NEVER should excuse bullying. and doing a bad thing for a good reason isn't a message i can get on board with. i'm really sensitive to this type of nonsense, and i wanted the bully to realize what they were doing wrong and make things right and NOT be rewarded. it felt like the equivalent of a participation trophy. no one deserves an award for learning how to be a halfway decent human. no. just no. gamers also have to deal with the idea that they hide away on their computers or whatever, and are unaware of the outside world. like they can't enjoy a hobby because someone has decided it's a waste of time, lazy, for kids, unhealthy, etc. and the character in this book took it to that stereotypical extreme. and i hated it. if you're trying to teach kids something with a flat caricature, teach them to see beyond a stereotypical portrayal of that type of character. show them not everything they heard about is true. and especially for the gamer, show them still gaming at the end and NOT just giving it up entirely because it's toxic.

Thanks to him (the Christmasaurus) they had all rediscovered the importance of being nice and it wasn't only because they wanted presents...Ok, maybe it was a little bit, but most importantly it was because, well its nice to be nice." She is the best-kept Christmas secret of all,' whispered Santa Claus. 'Which is surprising, because Christmas itself would not exist without her. She is older than time itself, yet still as young as tomorrow. She is known only as the Winter Witch.' The magical, moving children’s novel from Tom Fletcher. Forget everything you thought you knew about the North Pole, and set off on a Christmas Eve adventure with a boy named William Trundle, an elf named Snozzletrump, Santa Claus, a nasty piece of work called the Hunter, and a most unusual dinosaur . . .
