Also available is the Garmin eTrex 22x Vehicle Mount Kit. The eTrex 22x vehicle mount kit includes windscreen mount and vehicle power cable and is perfect for in-car use. Battery life. It’s very hard to keep electronics charged when riding 20 hours a day, charging bike lights and an InReach Mini, AND a smartphone being used for navigation. Especially without a dynamo hub. I wanted a primary navigation device that would run on its own power source and not drain my smartphone battery.

Outdoor enthusiasts and road trippers alike will have great use for a rugged, reliable device like the Garmin eTrex 22x. Featuring an easy-to-see screen, compact size, long battery life, accurate GPS and GLONASS, waterproofing, and expandable storage, the 22x will lead the way on many adventures. Topographical maps or TOPO maps (for short) range are the premium map series from Garmin for exploring and navigating the great outdoors and countryside of Great Britain, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Switzerland to name a few of the available Garmin TOPO map titles. As well as hiking/walking, the Garmin topographic map series are also perfect for mountain biking, skiing, etc and provide high-detailed scale maps of around 1:50K to 1:25K scale. FYI - the eTrex does not have InReach functionality. How is the eTrex 32x Different Than the Other eTrex Units? What's the difference between the eTrex 20/30 series (left) and the eTrex 22x/32x series? Not much. One note here, the eTrex 20 has free Open Street Maps (OSM) loaded and the eTrex 32x has the preloaded Garmin Topoactive maps, which are based on OSM maps. When buying gps units, the quality of the product is going to be one of the factors that you really scrutinise before you commit to buying. As you can see, a dedicated GPS device like the Garmin eTrex is certainly useful under the right conditions. However, it’s an added cost and an added device in an already expensive and gear-intensive activity. If you aren’t sure you need one, there’s a good chance you don’t. I’ll get into a few alternatives at the end of this review. There’s so much information available online when we’re shopping now, that it’s easy to find lots of detail about products like Garmin eTrex 22x GPS. This is of course really helpful, but there’s almost too much information available, so it’s important to know exactly what you’re looking for. No device is perfect and the eTrex 32x/22x is no exception. After using this eTrex for hundreds of miles out on the trails, here's what I've come to learn. I'll go into detail on the performance and usage in the sections following this one. Highlights

If you want a trusty GPS device but don’t need upgraded features like a color screen, turn-by-turn driving directions, custom maps, or expandable storage, the Garmin eTrex 10 may be the device for you. Conclusion The 32x is especially suitable for activities where it can show its unique strengths, for example mountaineering, on week-long weight-optimized tours or kayaking (for this purpose there are helpful functions such as "course (CDI)"). No, but it just requires x2 AA batteries. We would recommend some good quality rechargeable batteries, as it will use a set every day. 3. What is the difference between the eTrex 22x and 32x? There is a maximum of 2000 waypoints on the eTrex units. Routes You can use the eTrex 32x to calculate routes on the fly, without any preplanning on the computer.

Garmin eTrex 22x Accessories

The eTrex uses a small patch antenna, while bigger units like the GPSMAP use a quadhelix antenna, which generally gets better results. The material the product is made from is often a sign of the quality for gps units. Take a look at the product details over at Cotswold Outdoor to get a feel for this.

The eTrex 32x offers both GPS and the Russian version, GLONASS, but does not offer Galileo (European GPS). You can turn GLONASS off or on. The basic theory is that the more satellites that you can potentially get a fix on, the better your (triangulated) GPS fix will be. So theoretically having GLONASS on will give you better results. In practice the results with GLONASS were slightly more precise. The additional maps that are available provide rich specific map data for different purposes e.g. City Navigator NT maps which provides street-level road maps, perfect when using the eTrex 22x in a car for navigation or for road cycling. In total there are four different types of maps that can be used within the eTrex 22x. Read on to discover more about them. Note that you CANNOT transfer data wirelessly to the eTrex from a phone. You need to connect it to a computer or transfer on the microSD card. If you want to transfer wirelessly from the phone, take a look at the GPSMAP 66i. Basecamp Using the free Garmin Basecamp program in conjunction with your eTrex is a good way to plan your trips. There's a series of GPS called the eTrex Touch, which has similar guts to this eTrex, but with a touchscreen. I've used Garmin touchscreens in the past and have had trouble when it's very wet or when I have gloves on, so that makes the eTrex Touch non-starter for me. If you've had a different experience, please let me know. Should I Get the eTrex 32x / 22x? Here are some the leading outdoor GPS contenders side by side. An iPhone 11 with Gaia GPS, an eTrex 20 with free OSM maps, eTrex 32x, and a GPSMAP 66i. If you are navigating a route, the compass screen will include an indicator to point you in the right direction. The 32x has the 3-axis internal compass, and will work when you are standing still. If you have the 22x without the internal compass, the unit will calculate your direction based on your last few GPS fixes. Elevation Plot You can open the elevation plot up from the main menu.

The altimeter will measure your progress up and down regardless if it's calibrated or not, so it's helpful to measure your total ascent. Fix díjas csere vehető igénybe ,mely ennél a terméknél 49 900 Ft. Tehát ezen összegért és a hibás eszköz leadásával egy új készüléket kap ismét 1 év garanciával. Secrets

If you want to save some money, get the older eTrex 20 or 30 model or eTrex 30x and load free maps on it. That got us thinking though, that we’re looking at every possible item from Garmin so it would be good to narrow our search down even further and only look at Garmin branded products within the gps units category. The cost of Garmin gps units internal memory instead of 1.7gb. But because the 32x uses that memory for its maps, you have much less usable memory (more on that later).
