Second Editions published in 1992 If you got most of them right, the Linkword method will help you learn the language of your choice. Linkword also teaches grammar in a really easy way. What is the evidence it works in general? Both books are co-authored by Dr Michael Gruneberg, the author of Linkword language courses. The one mnemonic strategy that has been investigated quite extensively by researchers is the keyword mnemonic. This has been used successfully in a variety of learning areas, but its chief use has been in the area of learning vocabulary. Level 2 takes about 12-14 hours and increases both the extent of vocabulary to about 700 words and increases the complexity of the grammar, particularly verbs. The mnemonic videos are an excellent way to teach a foreign language to any student, but particularly those who are dyslexic. The visual component and the mnemonic are a powerful combination to help with memorization. It is also an enjoyable way to learn vocabulary and grammar. I’ve taught more traditional methods, and I believe this is the best. By the time you finish one of our level 4 courses you will have a really extensive vocabulary (approximately 1200 words) and associated grammar.

Unlike the great majority of language courses available for sale, over 100 independent research studies have shown that compared to normal learning methods, the underlying method of association used in the Linkword courses is up to 3 times faster. While this method could be used to teach from any language to any language, it is currently used almost exclusively to teach English speaking people other languages. Many different companies offer systems based on this method, but the list of languages offered is almost identical.
