If you don’t mind buying butane, one of the best solutions for shrink tubes and other smaller work involves something like the Bernzomatic ST2200T Butane Micro Torch. You refill this unit from below using a butane refill bottle. It also gets crazy-hot compared to battery-powered options—over 3000° F! They are also lighter so you will be able to work for a long time without fatigue. And the best thing about portable heat guns? You won’t make any mess and you will save a lot of time. I move a lot while working so using a cordless heat gun helps me complete the project without having to change power outlets. Disadvantages of a Battery-Operated Heat Gun? A thing that I have not seen in many cordless heat guns is the cooling time. Usually, these types of heat guns need a lot of time to cool down, but the NEU MASTER heat gun only takes 5 seconds . After you shut down the heat gun cools down within 5 seconds. This makes the tool safer and prevents accidental burns. Some heat guns only give you two temperatures to choose from, but with this model from Diafield, you can adjust the temperature dial to achieve the exact temperature you need. It ranges from as low as 122 degrees Fahrenheit all the way up to 1,202 degrees Fahrenheit, and it also offers two fan speeds to suit various tasks. This is an exceptional, ergonomic, cordless option with heating performance that rivals top corded models

The ST2200T works perfectly on small precision projects, fine soldering, crafts, or putting heat shrink on wire. This cordless mini heat gun works in three different modes. You can use the cone tip, a hot air blower, or the micro torch tip to get a pinpoint flame. An adjustable flame control knob lets you vary the intensity and you can put it on continuous mode to set it down while you work. This heat gun comes with two temperature settings, the maximum temperature that this heat gun can reach is 990F (532 Celcius). The heat gun heats up fast, I usually leave the heat gun to heat for 3-4 minutes before I start to work with it. Usually, portable heat guns come with fewer features. And you need to always charge the battery a day before working with the heat gun. The battery of cordless heat guns doesn’t last more than 30-60 minutes. So that means that cordless battery heat guns are used for small/medium tasks only. Frequently Asked Questions About Battery-Powered Heat Guns Q: How Long Does the Battery Last on a Cordless Heat Gun? Alternatively, a corded model's power rating (measured in watts) is based on the simple A/C power calculation: Watts = Volts x Amps. The heating elements in most corded models are directly driven by the alternating current of a wall outlet. As a heat gun, the tool reaches temperatures as high as 1,022 degrees Fahrenheit, and as a torch, it creates a flame that burns as hot as 2,372 degrees Fahrenheit.

If you are focused more on crafts or smaller projects and are hoping to spend as little as possible on a heat gun, then we think the Homidic Mini is a great, inexpensive option. This compact product is great for crafts and smaller projects with lower-temperature requirements, like shrinking plastic, removing bubbles, or setting up embossing powders. It's lightweight, fairly comfortable to hold, and features a long, 6'6" power cord for maximum versatility. It also has a fold-down metal stand to keep the hot end elevated while cooling down or for hands-free operation. The two cordless models we tested, the DeWalt 20V and the Milwaukee M18, have lower peak temperatures than the corded models we tested. The DeWalt has two heat settings that also toggle the fan speed. On the lowest setting, it produces 550°F heat and moves 3.8 cubic feet of air per minute, which bumps up to 990°F and moves 6.7 cubic feet of air per minute on the higher setting. The Milwaukee, on the other hand, is fixed at 875°F and moves 6 cubic feet of air per minute.

Electric Pressure Washers Petrol & Diesel Driven Pressure Washers Hot Pressure Washers Pressure Washer Accessories Detergents, Chemicals and Algicides Pressure Washer Spares Hoses & Accessories Continuous run time with fully charged 6.0ah battery at maximum air temperature (550°C) = 30 mins in low mode (120 l/min) = 21mins in high mode (200 l/min) I mostly use this heat gun for small tasks, I have used it for shrinking and melting ice. It did a great job.

If you’re here, you at least think you want a cordless heat gun. Whether that’s the best solution for you or not depends on your application. If you want to remove paint from the side of a 1920s home, cordless doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t tend to get (and stay) as hot as corded heat guns. A cordless heat gun also doesn’t have the continuous runtime you want when doing a larger job like that. So cordless gives you convenience, but it may not make sense for every application and use. How Much Temperature Do I Need in My Heat Gun? There are a lot of pros when it comes to a battery-powered heat gun. The most important one is that you can work whenever you want, it doesn’t matter if you have a power outlet or not, you still can work.

The tool is easy to use and small, it can fit in places where a normal heat gun wouldn’t. It is also lightweight, and approximately weighs 4 pounds. In my opinion, corded heat guns are better and they help me complete my projects easier. But if they are better then why buy cordless heat guns?

Analysis and Test Results

A great heat gun that I tend to use a lot, I have actually bought some bigger batteries so it can last longer. I didn’t have any noticeable problems with this one. DeWalt makes its argument as the best cordless heat gun by upping the temperature mark to 990ºF in High mode. That’s getting really close to the 1000ºF mark that we like to see corded heat guns at. That said, expect that max temperature to take nearly 6 minutes to peak and you’ll need to be 0.4 mm away to get that maximum rated temperature. Probably my favorite cordless heat gun. The reason why I like the NEU MASTER NHG0140 is that I don’t see any noticeable differences between this cordless heat gun and a normal heat gun. It is a high-quality tool that I use a lot! If you don’t own a heat gun for heat shrink connections, there’s a good chance you’re using some sort of lighter or open-flame torch. These are more limited since they don’t produce any airflow to move the heat away, but they still get the job done and are much less expensive. You just need gas refills. The one thing you need to keep your eye on is that they use an open flame for heat, so take appropriate care.
