Its origins are unknown except for the fact that it was constructed to protect an unspecified source of power from those who would misuse it. While the set comes with one shield (it's a simple silver remold of He-Man's shield) this is a nice place to display various weapons pack shields. I do wish more attention had been paid to adding a few other minor paint apps (such as the bat in the window ledge) but overall I'm very happy with Grayskull. I could see a real problem for someone who was intending to display the castle long ways (both front and back side to side) being disappointed that this isn't possible without some serious dis-assembly. Stuff works better- the opening front door, the pivoting laser cannon on the turret, the elevator, and even the hinges all work better than previous versions of Castle Grayskull.
