AH-D7200 - Reference Hi-Fi Headphones with drivers - Denon

However, you’d be hard-pressed to find more comfortable headphones of this kind. The Denon headphones are definitely worth auditioning. These drivers are made from a nanofiber material - a material that was chosen for its rigidity and low mass. They are mounted onto custom-made resin baffles, designed to eliminate all vibrations being transferred to the cup. When I use my EQ settings and switch it ON / OFF it sounds like somebody close the door in my ears. Small tweak but the difference is significant. I had tried more harsh sounding recordings with stronger highs and they were not ear piercing to me (only if I raised the EQ's db then it start hurting my ears.) Again, that is the setting that works for me well, I am sure others might tweak it even further. The highs are fantastic, I don’t find them too harsh or too bright. The level of clarity and detail offered by these cans are very high. They are very resolving with superb definition, very insightful. They are definitely not veiled or muddy sounding. I don’t find them fatiguing either. I have been listening to lot of high quality .flac music, all kinds of different genres and also enjoying them while watching movies and little bit of gaming.

The Denon AH-D7200 are top-notch headphones. From the extraordinarily resolved ergonomics, the high-quality sound to the fact that Denon made no savings on parts and technology. However, because of the speed and transparency of the speaker units themselves, but also the closed design of the headphones, one should also be a little patient about the overall set-up. I also hope to test the headphones with which they will celebrate 100 years of their production. I’m really interested.

Denon AH-D7200 Over-Ear Hi-Res Headphones, Premium Hi-Fi

There’s a smoothness to the Denon AH-D7200s’ sound that will leave you listening for hours without getting fatigued. That smoothness does come at the expense of total transparency and punch, but it’s a balance we can imagine many getting along with. There is headphone comfort, and then there is Denon headphone comfort. In my opinion, Denon headphones have always been in a league of their own in this regard. My old Denon D5000 headphones were always my benchmark for comfort, matched only by the Beyerdynamic DT1990 and the Sennheiser HD800. This is a sentiment that I agree with as the Denon D5000, for many years, was the flagship headphone amongst my collection. Released in 2012, at the time they were unparalleled in terms of comfort and quality. Denon’s latest premium headphones are once again attracting fans of this underrated part of the audio system with its great sound and aesthetics. Read our Denon AH-D7200 Review below.Denon began its tradition in audio production in 1910, and to this day has produced a huge number of all-purpose components, but 50 years ago they started designing and manufacturing headphones. The tested model is so anniversary, but with its solutions and sound and a clear reminiscence of the days when Denon incorporated drivers from the famous manufacturer Fostex in his models. During this period, they produced several legendary models that are still famous for their best and most interesting designs. We have an opportunity to listen and review Denon AH-D5200 recently, so we can say that the tested headphones sound quite similar to the models from that period. Build Quality The unique FreeEdge drivers that are included in the AH-D7200 headphones are 50mm in diameter and are made out of nano-fibre material that has been chosen for its rigidity and low mass. These drivers help to deliver an accurate pistonic motion that will not create any distortion. The drivers are also self-damping, which means they are able to cancel out any unwanted resonances within the diaphragm, allowing for only the best sound reproduction. Mounted in a soft and compliant surround, the FreeEdge drivers are able to move easily in response to the music signal, with no flexing or distortion. There’s plenty to love about Denon’s mellifluous tone. In fact, you may prefer this balance if you’re after long, comfortable listening sessions.
