For a 1500w ebike, it is recommended to use a 1500 WH battery i.e., 48V 32 Ah or 52V 30Ah lithium-ion battery to get the best performance. Usually, the higher the voltage of the battery, the faster the bike will run but don’t use much voltage. I then cut some heat shrink tubing the length of the cable and used it as a thin insulation on the cable to make it easier to wind it inside the transformer. Before winding the transformer with the newly insulated cable, I protected it with some Kapton tape. Getting 4 windings inside the transfomer is necessary but may be a bit tough to do. You can flatten the cable with a few taps of a hammer beforehand to make it easier. Because of their high speed, these bikes are not easily controlled by beginner riders or new riders and may lead to an accident. While we’re talking about components, I will take a moment and scold E-cells for not going with a torque sensor over a cadence-based pedal assist sensor. At this price, I would have expected a torque sensor to be standard equipment to give smoother pedal assist. Though at least with 9 levels of pedal assist compared to the typical 3 to 5 levels, you can more finely tune your desired assist.
