It was Einaudi’s third studio album and included twelve tracks, including songs from his most popular EP from 1996.

The living area is furnished to a high standard with a lovely outlook through the large balcony doors. In the chorus there is a key change and the arpeggios change to incorporate new melodies and motifs. a. komponierte er die Musik zu Filmen von Andrea de Carlo (Schriftsteller und Regisseur) und Nanni Moretti (Filmemacher, Produzent und Schauspieler). When Notte from Ludovico Einaudi’s album “Stanze” was broadcast on BBC Radio 3’s Mixing It last year it elicited the greatest listener response in the programme’s ten-year history.

In translation “Le onde” means “The wave” and is partly inspired by Virginia Woolf’s book of the same name.

Ludovico Einaudi's popularity keeps going from strength to strength, and people continue to love to play his music! The twelve ballads contained in this edition can either be played individually or in various combinations grouped around the two main titles Le onde and Questa notte. Its structure is very simple but powerful, contrasting lyrical motifs against one another to create an effect of tension and movement. In 1996 he achieved his breakthrough with "Le Onde" and, with a little delay, even found his way into the British pop charts in 1998.

Brought up on a diet of Chopin, Bach, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, Einaudi is a quintessential crossover composer, having also worked in the avant-garde and multi-media. Sein Vater Giulio gründete 1933 das Verlagshaus Einaudi, das noch heute eines des größten Italiens ist. This album is just as good, the overall feel you get from it is slightly more edgy, not as smooth as Islands; but it is well worth the purchase. He started writingall the pieces for Le Onde inspired by this idea, but reached a point when he felt there was still a piece lacking from the overall picture. To me the song seemed to be perfectly suited for change – like the seasons, or sunset/sunrise, or life/death.It takes as its inspiration the Virginia Woolf novel The Waves and the undulating, hypnotic melody evokes images of the rhythms and patterns of the ocean. Deceptively simple to listen to, but the more you listen, the more you realise that this is a mature work. If your already familiar with his other work and like it then this won't disappoint, if however your not then this is a very good place to start. Le Onde (‘The Waves’) was Einaudi’s first big hit, and it’s also the title track from his first major album, released in 1996. This solo piano piece is a standout among Einaudi's fifty albums and 250 solo works released so far.
