Ideally I want a good make second hand one - thinking that might be better (more stable etc) than a cheap one. Everything you need to set up a solid scaffold is supplied, including horizontal and diagonal braces, stabiliser bars, and marine plywood footboards with a non-slip surface. One company even states they are a UK business even though their products are manufactured in China and they are Chinese owned.

I would always recommend that you tie in to the building that you’re working on anyway, just to be sure, especially if you’re going to be working on a 6-7-metre-tall rig, as they can still wobble at the top, even with stabilisers in place. The platforms are narrow, but perfectly adequate for most DIY jobs and are easy to access via the trapdoors. If you're an Easyjet passenger who was issued a voucher during the Covid-19 pandemic, you've less than one week left to use it before it expires on 31 January 2024.Personally, I prefer galvanised steel structures, but you do have to keep an eye on the galvanised coating or rust can become a problem over time. Had to use it Thursday to get a double glazed timber sash out far too heavy to do from inside and no way I could board it up on ladders. Our NEW HOME MASTER DIY Aluminium Scaffold Tower has an unprecedented specification and build quality for this type of tower, with its welded frames giving supreme strength and colour coded braces making assembly fast and easy.

Ladders/steps - maybe not using 'properly' - maybe most DIYers don't, so probably a good idea to shell out for a tower. metres, and is good for trimming high hedges or for guttering on bungalows, but will not allow you to do much to a 2-story house, apart from stretch up and clean the windows. Can't recommend those towers enough, best purchase I ever made in my life, it hs paid for itself and some! We provide a wide variety of different 7m scaffold towers, so you're sure to find one that's well suited to your requirements. As with all equipment 'think safety' is vital and take care when using , but I won't go up the ladder again after using this! One of our professional team members will be more than happy to talk with you and help you find the right 7m scaffold tower for you. Even though the tower does come with stabilisers, it is still very lightweight and so doesn’t feel quite as stable as a steel tower scaffold, and I would still advise tying on to a building, or using some extra structural support, especially if not on a completely fat surface.

I am thinking of getting a 7m scaffold tower so that I can access the eaves/guttering and prune the conifers in my garden. I also used the pictures from the flyer a lot but it would be nice to have an IKEA type booklet to refer to? All the components were of a high quality, and there were no issues with anything being misaligned, rusted, etc. There is a third option available that will allow you to clean the upstairs windows, fix your guttering, trim the top of tall hedges, and all the other jobs that need you to be up high, and still feel like you have a secure footing. I wouldn't choose either of the two you listed, both look flimsy and doubt they will sell easy second hand.So if you can't stabilise a ladder properly to use it safey how do you hope to do the same with a tower? Available with toeboard and additional guard rails at intermediate platform levels making these the safest DIY towers in the marketplace. Once up it is sturdy and feels much more solid and robust than it looks - if you attach the outriggers it feels amazingly secure. The SDIY 5 (3 in ONE) covers 3, 4 and 5m working heights whilst the SDIY 7 (5 in ONE) covers 3, 4, 5 6 and 7m working heights and SDIY 9 (7 in ONE) covers 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9m working heights.

One of the reasons for preferring a tower over a ladder is that my good lady is rubbish at being a safety man:) and supporting the ladder. Getting something totally free is likely to get a true MoneySaver's heart pumping faster than any cardio workout ever could. We have added several unique features like fully colour coded braces to make building quick and easy and anchoring spikes for added stability when using on softer ground (UK Patent applied for). Some mention that it's relatively straightforward, while others say that the instructions are vague and the tower takes some time to assemble. Obviously it is not industrial quality but for DIY purposes it is great and beats hanging off a ladder for those high-level jobs. You’ll need to make a few adjustments to make it really stable, but that is true for nearly all DIY scaffolds, and the knowledge of how to do so is readily available online.
