About this deal

Two chainsaw discs were reported as having serious risk of injury in the OPSS Product Safety Report (No 7 – 19 February 2021). I have an Arbortech disc which is much safer but can still cause serios damage but at least no chain to fly off into your face at great velocity. A chain brake, it should stop the chain dead in its tracks when the brake is triggered by forward movement of the guard, usually done in most cutting positions by using the back of the hand that's holding the top part of the main handle, can also be triggered by sudden inertia such as kick back, if the chain brake doesn't function as intended then the saw must not be used until the problem is rectified.

They don't seem as scary looking as the metal shear or the lathe with the 12" chuck whirring, but they will mess up your day, month, and maybe years if not respected. uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/999223/2021-06-30-PSA2-angle-grinder-chainsaw-discs-poster. Angle grinder chainsaw disc attachments These products present a risk of serious injury or fatality from the disc slipping or producing kick back when in use. Or is Mr Elf just indulging in a little propaganda (also known also "a lie") to justify outlawing the tool?I think the chain was supposed to slip a bit on the disk to reduce the chance of kickback, but the whole idea frightened me! One rule I try to follow is to never look along the plane of attack of a grinder, chainsaw etc - if you are looking straight down into the cut, anything coming out is going to hit you square between the eyes. The serrated edge discs turn angle grinders in to small hand-held chainsaws, but the two products are not designed to be used together and are likely to cause loss of control which could result in serious injury or even fatality. And a device to shut off if there's a flashback (I cannot remember the correct term, but it shuts power off if the guard comes in contact with some object).

Angle Grinders [and any interchangeable equipment] must comply with the essential safety requirements. As to chain-life on a _proper_ chainsaw, I consider the chains to be service-items and simply replace the one on my trusty firewood-sawing Husqvarna every year. Seems a most fearsome and dangerous attachment and as far as using for cutting tree roots below soil level it would have the same effect as using a chain saw.HIGH PREMIUM MATERIAL: Made of high quality manganese steel, sharp, perfect for simple to complex woodwork such as peeling wood, sanding, carving and more! Some time later I also saw a man wood cutting using an angle grinder fitted with a course circular saw blade without the guard on. However, angle grinders are not designed for use with such accessories as they do not incorporate the safety features required for electric chainsaws. I only did this once and it cost me a new chain as the old one had gone too far to be sharpened again.

I assume that's tongue in cheek as anyone seriouly asking most certainly shouldn't be allowed near one. EASY TO USE AND HANDLE: Cup disc wood grinder wood cutters tree stump remover wood carving disc angle grinder attachments are easy to use and handle flexible wood disc and can extract small or large amounts of material. Consumers, local authority trading standards and businesses are asked to take specific action to cease use or remove them from the market. OPSS is working with local authority Trading Standards to identify and take appropriate action against these chainsaw attachments. The few times I have plunged it inadvertently into the ground has resulted in worn teeth, a premature strip down and filing all the teeth back to profile.

OPSS is also telling any business that sells these chainsaw discs as attachments for angle grinders to remove them from the market immediately as they do not comply with the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008. Any consumers who have these angle grinder attachments in their possession are urged to stop using them immediately. WIDE USE: Wood grinding disc angle grinder discs stump grinder teeth stump grinder teeth are suitable for polishing all types of softwood, hardwood, woodworking, wood carving, root carving, tea tray, coffee table, etc. I am old enough to remember seeing an article in which the inventor of the arbortech woodcarver told how he welded a length of chainsaw chain onto a disc then redesigned it as it was so dangerous.

Je recommande vivement ce disque bois meuleuse à tous ceux qui cherchent un outil de qualité pour le travail du bois. Under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 only safe machinery can be placed on the market. That sounds a bit melodramatic, probably only saved a couple of fingers at most The chainsaw discs need a powerful grinder and the rotational speed is not suitable for single speed grinders as they spin too fast ( rated to 6800 rpm ) Check your men in sheds grinder or you may be liable for action if something bad happens. Chainsaw Discs that are marketed to be used on angle grinders could be considered interchangeable equipment under the 2008 Regulations and based on OPSS risk assessment are not able to meet the essential safety requirements when combined with an angle grinder. GRINDING MACHINE DISC: Wood grinding disc made of high-quality alloy material, wood disc for grinder high hardness and durability.Zumal ich im Internet vorher eine dreiteilige "Kettensägenscheibe" gesehen habe und ungerne defekte Kettenteile als Geschoss abbekommen wollte. The numerous youtube videos showing potentially dangerous mods to tools really need to be better policed and removed.
