About this deal

Like in the previous book, we get two twists that I, once again, didn't expect but made sense and were great ideas. Midas is not prepared to lose his gold-touched and will do whatever it takes to keep her - lie, manipulate, coerce, force.

The last chapter is told from the POV of another character, and that ending just makes it harder to have to wait until next year for the fourth book! Just when I think Auren's life takes a turn for the better, the shit hits the fan again and I'm left gapping at words on a page. In Gleam, Auren takes control of her life, explores what freedom represents to her and makes her own decisions to achieve it.He lets Auren know from the start what he wants, but he treats her in a way that makes it clear that while he says he wants everything and he will not let her go after one night, he doesn't plan on trying to control her, and he would let her go if that's what she truly wanted.

If you made it through the first two books of The Plated Prisoner, Gleam is the culmination of all the world-building and character-development Raven Kennedy outlined up to this point. I mentioned that there is a lot of sexual tension and also some angst between Auren and Slade, but we can also see that it's more than just sexual attraction between them.

There’s no hints at this btw—just me and my overactive imagination jumping to conclusions) Because that would just make my month. I had no idea that I’d be so invested in this series when I started and I wouldn’t have it any other way. She went from this helpless, manipulated, abused girl to this empowered woman who put an end to her abuser in the most incredible, glorious way possible. And I'm sure we all want to say we would act like Auren, but I'm also certain it wouldn't be the case.

She is indecisive at first, but as the book progresses, we can see her resolve to leave Midas behind strengthening and it felt so good to see her stand for herself. ce tome est censé être le meilleur et encore une fois c’est juste la version Lidl de ACOMAF, les ressemblances sont trop présentes. And fine, let's say that's understandable because of her flaws that stem from her experiences - then Slade should have been the better person. The royals of the Third and Midas are scheming to gain more power, the heir of the Fifth is too young to understand the game the adults are playing, King Ravenger is only staying there for so long because he wants to save Auren, and Auren needs to find a way to escape Midas and leave him for good. We find out that Midas is Barden East, the big bad she was threatened with before she met Midas, and we're supposed to believe that the big master plan of this crime boss turned monarch was to make her love him. Also, I am certain that there will be a lot more chapters with his POV in Glow, based on how Gleam ended, and that makes me so damn happy. If a refund is payable to you we will process the refund as soon as possible, and, in any case within fourteen (14) days.
