The story is very well written and easy to read, with a cast of characters that fill out the mansion bringing it to life.

She poured her host's tea with expert poise and elegance, stepping back and standing to the side of the table, her hands in clasped in front of her waist and her head bowed.On the other hand, having more rogues in town instead of more heroes and villains smashing up the street could only be a good thing. Part of the public’s enduring fascination with the royals is just this kind of speculation about their private lives. The angel jumped, her wings briefly opened - not to their full length mind you - and the girl levitated for a second before she touched back down. Instead she stood up, guiding them to the table and chairs set up to the side and slightly behind where she sat, smiling as she offered them their seats. It had taken her a full day of panicking and hiding in abandoned warehouses trying to work through how her powers worked (the answer was inconsistently) to figure out that she could turn back into her normal Taylor Hebert self, though her powers didn't seem to carry over.

This book managed to provide a complex backstory, throw in annoying characters and provide entertainment all within a couple thousand words. She listens to Diana without judgment, seems to recognize the incredible pressure she’s under, and doesn’t dismiss the princess when she resists wearing the look that’s been laid out for her. Um…I'm sorry if I'm asking too much, but you must know by now who…you know, would be alright dealing with me, right?The helper, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was convicted after trial in February on three counts of indecent assault, which she had denied, claiming she was a lesbian. It honestly didn't feel like she was doing much, and she couldn't help but feel that Master Parian was giving her busy work because there wasn't anything she could do to be useful. But these events only came to light last July, when the boy learnt about animal reproduction at the age of 13. So then she'd have to just make it obvious that she was licking her lips (Amy's lips, not the maid's lips, because that would be weird) because they were chapped.

Both would be bad, though the latter would probably make her…less than pure thoughts when it came to Parian's new receptionist (maid? Her affection (the cause of her current problem she was sure) and skill checks succeeded almost always, but she knew it was possible to fail. LOL I was aware of the spice but I thought there would be more storyline (and of course more pages).

Though the little voice telling her she somehow failed at luck when she was just lucky enough to get hired by Parian irked her somewhat. I was a rich teenager whose parents died in a plane crash and left me and my sister a two million dollar house and 10 million dollars. When Jade is quietly working in her hotel room one morning, she hears a tap on the door for room service. I could've done without the third-party involvement because it helped the relationship between mistress and maid, but it also seemed a bit, if not forced then at least, tough to follow.
