About this deal

It’s not bad for running; I just wouldn’t suggest wearing it for runs longer than about 1 mi repeats. It helps the entire shoe better adhere to the foot and limit the stretch and flex that comes with each step, reducing energy loss and keeping you feeling quick and clean with your footwork. It's certainly not like a big Brooks shoe with expansion joints and buttressing and all of the other things that go into snapping your foot back into position. The Solstice XT 2 performs well for athletic-focused training, recreational lifting, HIIT workouts, daily wear, and shorter runs. This feature makes this model super maneuverable and you get a lot of ground feedback in different training settings.

I have had three pairs (previous two lasted about 18 months) and the newest pair that I purchased back in August 2023, the black part of the sole is separating from the white midsole. To avoid this, please follow all troubleshooting we send you and read the product manual carefully before posting. The soles have come apart from the sides, so when you're on the leg press, for example, your feet will start to slide even more because of this. If you have additional Solstice XT 2 sizing questions, drop a comment below or reach out to me personally and we can work through what size would be best for you. Pavel Tsatsouline, the patron saint of the kettlebell, once opined about the best shoes for the gym: “Comrade, any fancy sneakers with cushion are plain bad news for you, so either go barefoot or wear shoes that are almost no shoes, such as wrestling shoes or Chuck Taylor All Stars.

In the Solstice XT 2, the toe box follows the curvature of the toes and is purposely designed to be wide to accommodate full toe splay and the act of gripping the floor with the feet.Women's Altra® Solstice XT 2 :: If the Solstice XT spent its offseason in the gym, the result would be the Solstice XT 2. This model’s length fits true-to-size and they have ample width in the toe box for neutral and wider feet. In the context of training, the Altra Solstice XT 2 works best for recreational lifting, light running, walking, and cross-training. Finally, the flex grooves are well-placed to allow natural foot movement in the forefoot while stabilizing the midfoot and heel.

Their upper is a little lighter which helps but the core last construction is pretty similar regarding their snugness in that context! Please bring the same card you used to make payment and the original EFTPOS receipt if you require a refund for an EFTPOS payment.I have had many compliments on the style and have worn these shoes in semi-casual events with khaki/dark tan pants. The 0mm heel-to-toe drop, wider toe box, and low-profile cushion help to attribute to this shoe’s overall stability. Still, I could imagine that the upper’s lightweight, the breathable fabric would get quickly eroded if experiencing direct friction. The XT has a few features that provide just a little more support and responsiveness than the standard Solstice.
