About this deal

Aluminium Oxide abrasive ('Green' general purpose and 'Red' very fine pads), Silicon Carbide abrasive ('Grey' ultra fine pads), Phenolic resin bonded to nylon fibre pad. Its really just a light going over the surface to remove any lose nibs or particles that managed to get in or under the first coat of oil.

If it doesn’t that means that more denibbing is required, and after that if it still isnt smooth then it probably hasn’t been as sanded as well as it should of. Finishing Pads, also known as De-Nibbing Pads, are used to sand finishes down in between applications of finish (Oil, Paint, Varnish) to help create a much smoother finish at the end.It can be done with any oil finish and will just improve and smooth the surface for a slight more superior finish, if you don’t do it is not the end of the world, but it is something that we recommend. You don't need to apply much pressure at all while you're sanding - just go over it very gently, and do it in the direction of the wood grain, unless it's MDF or something that doesn't have a wood grain ofcourse. I use 0000 (four-noughts) wire wool (that's a grade finer than John, above) for applying the wax, but you can use a pan scourer (the green or white matty things, not Brillo pads, they are too coarse).

This positioning, alongside our focus on sustainability and preserving the environment, resounds through all we do. I've done very little oil finishing, but with paint and varnish of any sort, on wood or metal, I find 600 grit wet n dry (maybe used wet, maybe dry, depends on the parent material) by hand wrapped around a cork block the way to go. Denibbing is the removal of “nibs” and imperfections from your finish, and it should be performed between each coat of any finish applied.Starting with the obvious reason and that is to get your finish as smooth and professional looking and feeling as possible. Thank you so does that mean with the product I am looking at using I would need to use a fine grade wool?
