The JVC TH-D227B Compact Sound Bar has a compact design that’s compatible with TVs from 17” and over, so that you can enhance your audio no matter the size of your TV. If your TV is attached to a wall, you can mount the soundbar on the wall directly below the TV screen. Be aware that if you then switch to one of the other sound settings (or if you switch the device off) your custom settings will be lost. It’s a shame that you can’t test what works and what doesn’t from within the menu, or at least I don’t think you can; you have to change a setting, go into a programme and see if you now have sound, come back if you don’t and try something else, which makes it very long-winded to experiment and see what is the best sound you can get.

The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol, within an equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated dangerous voltage within the units enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock. I also have the Bose TV Speaker - nice item but larger than this and again the sound is 'different' rather than substantially better. Notes for battery disposal The batteries used with this product contain chemicals that are harmful to the environment. This works fine for me, but then I feed my soundbar from the headphone socket of the TV, so I can keep controlling the volume from the TV remote, so Optical Out considerations would be different.Also connected my phone instantly in Bluetooth mode, good quality sound and my daughter is thrilled. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

It obviously doesn't produce the sound of a wider bar but its got good bass and treble which is ideal to replace the TV sound, here's the pros and cons. It’s probable that the TV is passing the soundbar whatever audio format it receives, and the Stick is sending one it can’t decode.If your TV is placed on a table, you can place the soundbar on the table directly in front of the TV stand, centred with the TV screen. Lithium metal in contact with water can produce hydrogen gas, fire, explosion and/or cause personal injury. The problem is that once you turn off the power then at next start up you have to adjust again, because the device has reverted to factory settings. It is the installers responsibility to verify that the wall will safely support the total load of the soundbar.

If you connect the sound bar to your television via an auxiliary cable through the headphone jack then you’re going to get the lowest quality sound and probably some background hissing as well - the only upside being the ability to operate the sound bar using the television’s remote control. Music quality isn't great, but that's to be expected given the size of the speakers; volume was quite good.Press and hold to activate the pairing function in Bluetooth mode and disconnect the existing paired Bluetooth device. So this JVC model looked just the job on paper and I'm pleased to say that it seems to live up to expectations.
