About this deal

VG+ condition, vinyl has a couple of light marks but nothing too notable, sleeve has a word written in biro top left and a date written in biro on the back. Madness' is Minneapolis-based Polica's seventh release since 2012's ground breaking debut album 'Give You the Ghost'. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. Produced by Christopher Neil, the album ranged from the hyperkinetic new wave-infused ‘Machinery’ via the smooth west coast yacht rock of ‘There When I Needed You’ to classic, Streisand-style balladry on the top 20 AC hit ‘I Wouldn’t Beg For Water.

Housed in a plain black sleeve with a 12" size picture insert, it is not a picture sleeve (they weren't produced with picture sleeves). Sleeve would be described as Excellent if it hadn't worn through slightly in the middle of the top edge. It is worth noting that the tracks from the One Step Beyond album sound a good deal less harsh than they have done in the past. Wonderful, originally released in 1999 was the first studio album featuring the original Madness line-up since 1984’s Keep Moving.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. What I can tell you is that most of the mixes/versions are correct to the original edition of the album, notably: Cardiac Arrest, It Must Be Love, The Prince (although the ending may be longer), Los Palmas 7, and House of Fun (with the fade.

The album was well received among fans and critics alike, bearing the classic single ‘Mr Apples’, which has become a regular fixture in the band’s live set. The Madness’ was the only studio album released under the short-lived iteration of Madness known as ‘The Madness’, with Mike Barson, Woody and Mark Bedford all out of the line-up. The OBI sash is a professional reproduction of the original, everything else is the original from 1984.

Being released for the first time on vinyl (180gram heavyweight) the album includes the singles ‘Lovestruck’ and ‘Johnny The Horse’, as well as the fan favourite ‘Drip Fed Fred’, which features Ian Dury not long before he passed away. this was advertised as 180gm vinyl, it most certainly is not 180gm; so please be aware if purchasing on this premise ! No one is quite sure of how this came about, can only assume (similar to Absolutely) that there were two final choices for the sleeve design, the matt sleeve with gold patterns was chosen but a few of the second choice got printed up too. Compilation with unique sleeve from 1986 only released in South America - could it have been this sleeve that gave Virgin the idea for the Divine Madness sleeve?
