About this deal

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Unfortunately, highlights don't pop, and colors aren't vivid because it has low HDR peak brightness and doesn't display a wide range of colors. In addition, we use some carefully selected 3rd party suppliers to help us enhance your online experience.

It has the basic gaming features most gaming monitors have, like a 144Hz refresh rate, native FreeSync variable refresh rate (VRR) support, and G-SYNC compatibility. The Samsung Odyssey G5/G55A S27AG55 is a bit better than the model it replaces, the Samsung Odyssey G5 C27G55T. The image looks inaccurate when viewed from the side, which isn't ideal for co-op gaming or sharing content. Unfortunately, the EOTF doesn't follow the target PQ curve very well either, as most scenes are too dark until there's a sharp roll-off at the peak brightness, causing a loss of fine details.

Plus there is also weird issue where the bottom half of the screen is slightly lighter than the top so blacks that span the whole screen have this very mild gradient going top to bottom but tbh I dont notice it when gaming and only when browsing the web, also invisible when watching video and I tend to forget its there.

AMD FreeSync Premium features adaptive sync technology which reduces screen tearing, stutter and input latency. The Samsung Odyssey G5 S27AG50 is an updated version of the Samsung Odyssey G5 C27G55T, but they're different monitors. If for any reason the manufacturer rejects the warranty claim, or you have any other difficulties please contact us and we will be more than happy to help. This was bought as a birthday present and as I know nothing about gaming etc I can only go by the expression on my grandsons face when he opened the box. While it displays deep blacks for dark room usage, it has disappointing uniformity because there's backlight bleed, and it doesn't have a local dimming feature to improve it.

The G5's 1000R radius of curvature is exactly the same as the human eye, catapulting you right into the action. The S27AG55 has a nearly completely flicker-free backlight, so it's easier on the eyes and has better text clarity. It displays deep blacks if you want to watch content in dark rooms, but there's noticeable backlight bleed, and it doesn't have a local dimming feature to improve the uniformity. Take your gaming experience and performance to the next level with the optimum, immersive, 1000R screen curvature. The Gigabyte has a higher contrast ratio, quicker response time, and a slightly higher refresh rate. On the other hand, the C27G55T's BFI feature works at a much wider range, and it has built-in speakers, which the S27AG50 doesn't. It's available in various sizes, as there are 27 and 32-inch models with a 16:9 aspect ratio and an ultrawide 34-inch model.
