The Carlyles go on vacation to The Bahamas with Remington, their mom's fiancé, his daughter, Layla, and her boyfriend, Riley. c) Serena being seemingly impervious to all outside stimuli, while Blair takes everything personally.

and it's hard for me to rate this as it objectively should be rated, given that there are things in here that are just plain bad. Secondly, note how the author’s name, Cecily Von Ziegesar, blends in so well with Blair Waldorf and Serena Van Der Woodsen. Vanessa Abrams is a budding filmmaker and the total opposite of most of her classmates, sporting a shaved head and always wears black. In the books though, the group was a little more willing to broaden their horizons and more frequently dated outside of their inner circle. The Gossip Girl novels are indeed a top recommendation for readers who enjoy richly woven tales of romance and high society drama.

Jenny Humphrey – the younger sister of Dan, a fan of Serena but has major insecurities with her huge chest. The characters are all 2 dimensional and predictable - all super hot, super trendy, super rich, super popular and few if any have any redeeming qualities. The criticism of the Gossip Girl series primarily revolves around whether the events depicted in the story are appropriate for the teenage audience the books attract. And while friendships may be ruined, and relationships shattered, at least they're all fabulously dressed! Because of his behavior, there’s actually a risk of him getting sent to military school by his dear old mom and dad.

We all know that “Gossip Girl” primarily takes place on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, but in the books the Humphrey family didn’t live all that far outside of the upper class bubble. The show is loosely based on the books and you’ll see some similarities but for the most part, they’re pretty different so it’s worth watching and reading them.Lock up your boyfriends and throw away the key, because B and A are hotter than NYC during a sultry Indian summer.

I’m not sure how these would hold up if they were written today, but I think of them more as a nostalgic read, kind of like Pretty Little Liars. Not only is this book written with the intelligence of a monkey on acid, there's just something stomach-churning about a plot-less book about teenagers with too much money gulping down booze, sticking their fingers down their throats, sleeping with each other's boyfriends, and saturating it with deep prose suck as "shit," "fuck," "slut," "bitch," "whore," etc as if it were all normality, you know, just a day in the life. it's definitely debatable whether it was healthy for me to read this at such an impressionable age (it wasn't) but you can't argue with the fact that i took the things in here to heart.Bloomsbury will be publishing the series at regular intervals throughout 2003 with a high profile, energetic and suitably cutting-edge marketing campaign. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. I like the writing style in the sense that I get to be in every characters head but I hate that it’s third pov. The dead girl then somehow inhabits the body of her murderous friend and spends the book trying to figure out how she died, while intermittently having second-hand, multi-positional sex with the newly reunited couple. Christmas parties, the end of exams, revenge-plotting and the most talked about New Year's Eve party might spell big trouble for Upper East Side's elite.

As graduation approaches, Blair moves out of V's apartment and into the Yale club where she meets Lord Marcus. Anyway, those pages don't really advance the action, but they do give them a chance to drop a few more brand names. I tried to study the Gossip Girl books for clues as to how to win over my new classmates, but as I was neither descended from debutantes nor in possession of a Juicy Couture tracksuit, the Gossip Girl books were as foreign to me as they might have been to anyone reading them in Nebraska. New and familiar characters abound, voiced by a bright mix of performers, including Kat Dennings, Regé-Jean Page, Emma Corrin, Michael Sheen, Kristen Schaal, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Wright, and so many more, including fan-favorite narrators Simon Vance and Ray Porter.the story was all over the place and at the same time didn't seem to go anywhere, characters were poorly defined, everybody was self-absorbed and dumb as mud (at one point the girls use the central park falcons as an excuse to throw a fundraising party and they have to look up the word "falcon" in the dictionary.
