I’ve certainly had games in the past where I haven’t used my character’s special ability the entire game because opportunity simply did not present itself. Here are some of our more lighthearted things to show we're not all about the Serious Business of games.

The complexity of the game state is not high, but the bubble of uncertainty around it can make it seem that way. Sure, you can all claim to be whoever you like but only the Sheriff is known and everyone else is operating in an information blackout zone. Bang: The Dice Game uses the same theme and many of the same objectives and rules as the original card game, combining these into a very fast—15 minutes or so—dice rolling affair. I also prefer hidden role games to have limited amounts of information that player need to remember, here there’s very little to remember. The only thing that Bang is going to give you that these other games don’t, and better, is the dice… but dice just don’t work in this kind of game.There aren’t that many symbols, the card abilities are all fairly straightforward, and the game just makes sense.

While I wish there were ways in which players could defend themselves, the game is so quick that it isn’t too disturbing. However, when players realize they only got two turns to roll the dice and didn’t make any sort of real decisions along the way, they’ll leave the saloon. It’s a fun game that people get a bit excited about, and I think it’s a great game for any collection. For comparison, something like Elder Signs requires players to portion out their allowance of dice with an eye to future requirements and sequential pre-requisites.

If a player rolls three dynamite symbols over the course of his turn, a terrible accident occurs and the player suffers one damage. Gatling: If you roll 3 or more Gatlings, each other player loses one life point and you get rid of all your arrows.

Each character also gets a number of health points represented by bullets they can fit into their body before there’s no room left. We consider matters of diversity, representation and inclusion to be important accessibility issues.It’s not much of a game for spectators, which is a problem, but since you’re mostly done with a full go in about fifteen minutes it’s not something I’d particularly worry about.
