Also, this book, aside from a little cameo in Batman: Hush, was my first exposure to Barbara Gordon as Oracle, and I have to say I really liked her. Sonia Branch meets up with Dick and tells him that she has gotten account requests from Gotham City's criminals who wants her to help them invest their money.

Gotham is still the same dark and often rainy town, but the approach of the bat is a little different and I like it. Snyder arbeitet sehr minimalistisch mit der Anzahl seiner Charaktere, dafür sind die aber definierter, sie ergänzen sich gegenseitig und indirekt in die Story sehr organisch.Grayson struggles to make the identity his own, as he still does not feel comfortable living in the Wayne Tower penthouse like Bruce. In "The Black Mirror," a series of brutal murders pushes Batman's detective skills to the limit and forces him to confront one of Gotham City's oldest evils.

Jock’s artwork during Dick Grayson’s storylines is extremely detailed and dramatic and also, the images of the monsters are extremely disturbing to look at which really made the story even more intense. Das spürt man überall auch und besonders durch die Zeichnungen von Francavilla, der mich an einen sehr rauen Will Eisner erinnert, in denen die Zeit irgendwo Anfang der Achtziger stehengeblieben ist,die kruden Neonlichter sich in immernassen Straßen wiederspiegeln, die langen Schatten der vollen Mülltonnen, eine leere Flasche kommt rollend aus einer Gasse, böses Gelächter. Also, Dick talks to people in a different way and his interactions with other characters is according of how Dick Grayson would do it, not Bruce’s. Joker is being shipped off to Arkham Asylum while Commissioner Gordon meets up with Leslie Thompkins to ask how is James Gordon Junior doing.So far, I really liked Scott Snyder's other Batman stories (The Court of Owls and The City of Owls), I was almost 100% sure I was going to like this one. But, after discovering some newer “Batman” comics, I wanted to try out some and one of the “Batman” stories that I had checked out was “Batman: The Black Mirror. Just then, a body is ripped out of the orca's body, and Dick deduces the body is a woman named Evelyn who is Sonia's worker. Batman infiltrates the Mirror House with Oracle's help, a moving location the Dealer uses to hold his macabre auctions. However, the story isn’t perfect, while it was good to see how much elements from the past of everyone was resurfacing, I think that if the storyline would have focused on the main element which makes the climax of it, the whole storyline may be shorter but more solid.
