About this deal

I liked him already after watching SAS: Who Dares Wins, but now I like him and respect him even more. Once I’d been lucky enough to get a job on SAS: Who Dares Wins, I decided to use the platform as an exercise in honesty. When people let situations run away from them and don’t take care of the situations, it can go wrong.

I’ve been involved in gunfights, really, really hardcore ones, and if we’re able to pull back and sit down behind a wall and have a rollie, and a quick 6 seconds to ourselves, that’s all it might take. It is a very interesting read wich gives interesting insights into the stresses and horrors of war and mostly covers Jason foxes battles with ptsd and depression. Honesty is arguably the most difficult asset to utilize when building resilience because it requires us to ask some rough questions of ourselves – and then answer with some ugly home truths. Jason leads and motivates teams, designing packages for ‘the ultimate team-building exercise’ featuring challenging and gruelling Special Forces drills. It's cool to see him, with the help of a shrink, overcome his PTSD and then go on to success on television and even set a record with some buddies, rowing across the Atlantic. He had absolutely no support and from the persona he gives on tv you have absolutely no idea how hard he’s worked on himself to become or find that person in himself.

I ran into a ditch and I just wanted to be back at home as a ten-year-old boy again, watching Top Of The Pops. His home life fell apart too and he was finally advised by his superiors that he could only get better if he left the military. It made me see PTSD in a different light to how I previously had viewed it, and gave me a insight into how we shouldn't look at fixing our mental health issues with a 'one solution for all issues' mindset. But I'm excited to be back in the UK and ready to dive into planning for next year's World Record attempt (more on that project soon. Exceptional book with great insight and step by step guide with examples from both his past military life and examples from who dares wins. It started really slow, was hard to get used to Foxy's narrating, but after few quick chapters and no distractions this book just gets better and better.
