If you love your crime thrillers to be of the cosy type, then this is definitely not the book for you. The characters, which series fans will have come to know well, continue to have depth to their personal backstories and fit together effectively for the overall experience. Even a seasoned detective like Robert Hunter would need psychiatric help after solving a case of this magnitude and level of brutality. Every time my phone pinged with a message my heart sped up (you'll understand what I mean if you read the book). He worked as a criminal psychologist for several years before moving to Los Angeles, where he swapped the suits and briefcases for ripped jeans, bandanas and an electric guitar.But I will say, this book contains situation that might be difficult for some readers, the killer is almost relatable (up to a point) and an important message is hidden in the pages. Ever since I picked up The Crucifix Killer I have been hooked on this author and have sailed through all his books, including Genesis.Even serial killers would stop short at this level of depravity and torturous methods, even if it had some dark meaning. That being said, Genesis, the 12th book in the Robert Hunter series, was as deliciously good and chilling as its predecessors. I’m kinda sad that I’ve come to the end of the series(as of this date) but I will wait very impatiently for book 13. All the department starts smelling as of the loosers 😃 While Hunter is back on the stage- let the blood (and other body parts) run free.
