Picture was tested from a distance of about a metre, giving about a 30 ins picture, to 3 metres giving about 100 ins picture, and in the dark room it looked fine at either size.

Due to the small form factor, and other components, not sure if there could be more battery capacity packed into this little monster. Cosmos Max makes every unbelievable catch and last-second shot that much more amazing to watch with its 150-inch ultra-high-definition picture. Watch without worry: Eye Guard Tech provides extra protection for curious children who have an interest in the bright DLP bulb from Astro. The interface is fairly basic, and it is designed to show what apps you have downloaded and gets you to the media playback quickly. The top contains a couple of buttons for simple controls: power on, volume up/down, and a toggle switch for the Bluetooth speaker mode.

Other use cases could include projecting an Xbox onto a sheet during a sleepover or having an additional entertainment source in the hotel room while traveling with kids. If there are no children around (or adults who act like children), then you may want to turn this feature off for uninterrupted viewing on a buggy night. Trying this in daylight or with curtains drawn in the daytime, will definitely be affected by ambient light coming into the van, so don't expect the 100 ANSI lumen LED buld to give you a brilliant picture in anything less than darkness.

Whilst the projector is charging up using the mini usb port and lead provided, you can still run an hdmi lead to it from a portable dvd player, or stream movies to it via your iphone for services like Youtube. That said, Astro does integrate automatic vertical keystone correction up to +40 degrees and -40 degrees.

Nebula Astro may be primarily targeted for kids, but it is a good entry level portable projector not only for kids, but also for parents or anyone wanting a portable projector! Speaking of brightness, there is no facility to manually adjust the brightness and, there is no "color mode" option like on other Nebula projectors for manually changing the color temperature of the image. Eye guard is triggered for 20 cms, 40 cms and 60 cms (centimeters) from the Astro (eye guard sensor), i have maintained it at 60cms. There is a built-in parental control section in settings to restrict apps and content using a password. Use it mostly in the evenings or with curtains closed, so brightness is still good considering it is only 100 ANSI lumens.

As name suggests, this is the good feature, and one I have been using for mobile devices for kids and now for projector for kids, to control content used on the Astro. The software sometimes lags and the remote becomes unresponsive, though that may be due to limited processing on the Astro.
