Description

They are small, red ¨Gaskartuche¨ gross weight 290 grams (Butane 180 grams) Have tried recycling centres and outlets to retun them. Using cookies is the most effective way we can get feedback and analyse what improvements we can make. I’ve bought a Campingaz Camping Chef folding stove and i bought the appropriate regulator to go with it. Some stoves have a “pre heat tube” that means the stove still works with the canister turned upside down, which means it works better in the cold. The CV470 clamping channel is much deeper than the Lindal channel, so first job is to cut off the blue tabs from the end of the blue plastic CV470 connector and then file the cut surfaces smooth.

One thing to remember is that the additional 22m height of the adapter (when in use) lifts up the cente of gravity of any pot of boiling water atop. I believe I will have to scrap that portion of my setup and purchase a new burner that takes a more readily available canister. The old types have pierceable C206 cyclinders that are gradually giving way to the more common Easy Clic CV connectors. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). Problem is that I do not have the fitting to empty them and I am apprehensive about puncturing them. You must remember that these connections effect a gas seal with the o ring fitted in the female fittings, so you must ensure that you don't compromise this seal by damaging either the o ring or the blue plastic clamping mechanism.

Thanks for taking the time to reply – just in case anyone else finds this thread – I bought the following and it screws in both ends (one to the stove attachment and one to the new UK type canister) and it works a treat! Some will have packed in a Campingaz stove or, less often, something to hook up to a large and heavy dark green propane bottle weighing a kilogram or so. Like the previous adapter, these adapters are manufactured from brass, various alloys and plastic, with little in the way of moving parts. However, I’ve recently looked into a more base-camp type stove, and have landed on the Camp Chef Everest.I contacted Campingaz to see if they have an adapter so that I could use the screw on canisters like the Number 5 example you show that are readily available in various sizes here. Some of these alternative containers can work out a good deal cheaper for their contents than those found in lindal valved canisters. My G-Works propane adapter is an all metal aluminium/copper construction with a wide rubber (nitrile) gasket. Remember, if you empty a gas canister in a bothy, pack it out please, ideally accompanied by some previously abandoned rubbish too.
