Mode EQ sports the iconic Marshall logo on the cable clip and Marshall M logo on its earphones. MICROPHONE & REMOTE It’s hard to tell if it’s due to the larger sound tubes, or the almost perfectly cylindrical eartips, but the Mode EQ slipped smoothly into our ear canals with very little intrusion, and they stayed put pretty well. The earpieces are comfortable over extended listening sessions, though they don’t offer a whole lot in the way of ambient noise isolation. Audio performance The Mode EQ’s earpieces are covered in gummy plastic that’s easy to grip, broken up smartly by brass circlets on the exterior, and the familiar Marshall “M” at the end. We like the look, but we wouldn’t mind some aluminum or titanium thrown into the mix for a sturdier feel. The circlets also seem just a bit precarious, as if they might fall out after some wear and tear, though they never budged during our evaluation.

Mode EQ’s compact design and maximum sound output might make them the best in-ears on the planet. Customised drivers have been fitted into Mode EQ’s tiny frame to produce a well-balanced audio that boast a clear midrange, extended highs and deep bass. MARSHALL DESIGN With the control piece already carrying a heavy load, the mic has been relegated to a separate fixture just below the jawline on the left cable. ComfortNo two people are alike, which is why there are two different EQ settings in the Mode EQ. Use EQ I for a warm, bass-heavy sounds. Use EQ II if you prefer your music to be brighter with an emphasis on the mids and highs. No carrying pouch is included, though one could argue that the aforementioned shirt clip offers a built-in alternative.
