You all start with hating LB and boy how much I love him at the end despite all many tragic events he went through for being real, brave, courageous, kind, smart and forgiving…..LB is a true warrior… The nitty-gritty: A galaxy-spanning mystery and an unexpected love story, Light Chaser is one of my favorite novellas of the year. Both Luo Yun Xi and Janice Wu impressed with their quiet intensity and ability to emote so much with the smallest expressions. I first watched them together in “My Sunshine” and even then, they had great chemistry. They have certainly earned their reputations as excellent actors and in this show, they truly become their characters. Luo Yun Xi is amazing and I still cannot get over the fact that he did almost all of his stunts. Dramas come and dramas go but his performance was above and beyond. The drama tells the growth of 6 different people, all live in their own worlds some with dark past/traumas, whom received kindness through rescue and overcoming their own pasts/struggles to become light for others through rescue….

Well, I didn't like Amahle and she's the only character of any significance, so there went that. My biggest issue with her was that, for all she's (almost) immortal, she behaves just like any-old human today (with an emphasis on 'today'). Likewise, the worlds described are surprisingly uncreative for a science fiction novella. They're analogs of either medieval, early industrial, or early modern Earth, with a lot of cultural references to the current day. Odd, considering that we're talking 26,000 years in the future. And yes, to some extent, this is part of the plot, but the authors could have tried just a bit harder.

After reading the first chapter of this short novel I was considering ditching it because it felt too ‘hard sci-fi’ for my tastes, but I’m glad I persevered. What followed was a lean and compelling story about a woman who journeys across the solar system collecting memory collars from far away worlds so the long-lived inhabitants of her advanced but stagnant home-world can experience the arduous but more eventful lives of others.

OST: I keep looping it and how the narration really fits this story of growth….not able to FF the opening song and ending song each time.... The show did a great job showcasing the layers of different relationships.Thematically for me, it is a show that encapsulated life in many aspects and topics. It touched upon self-identity and personal growth, love (romantic and familial), respect and loyalty (to self, family, friends, and principles), societal pressures and opinions, friendship, and more. Amahle is one of a number of Light Chasers who traverse the known universe with only AI for company. She stops at planets, sometimes as often as once every fifty years and sometimes only once in a thousand, to collect their memories and their stories. Through these she lives an untold number of lives and is able to forget her own. This proves harder to do when the same voice and name, albeit in different bodies, starts to crop up in different planets that are light years apart. This is impossible, but the story it has to tell her is even more so. With a wealth of costumes at your fingertips, you are free to highlight your personality in the game easily!
