Overall, I like them. I would call these fun speakers, that can put out the bass (compared to my other 4" speakers. They are easy to fit on a tight desk, and are good with a variety of music styles. Overall... On the whole, we can say the vision is achieved when it comes to the quality and style of the Kanto YU4 Speakers. The YU4s also benefit from subwoofer connectivity. If you’ve got one already or are looking to boost the low end in the future then integrating a sub with these speakers is simple. They also have the ability to switch between line and phono inputs, allowing all turntables and record players to be connected easily. Versatility These are the passive version of the Kanto YU6 Powered Speakers, minus the electronics but otherwise the same. I have not heard the powered version, but they are well reviewed.

They can get loud. Claimed sensitivity of 89db, and I believe them. Get far louder than I can push Pioneer SB21, Polk TSi 100, Jamo C91 in the same room with the same amp. Bass does not bloat but stays solid. And I mean turn them up. Bluetooth isn’t the only way in which you can set up and get sound from the Kanto YU6 speakers. It also features a variety of other connections.

Connecting up a Chromecast Audio network player so that it’s powered via the USB port and outputs audio to the optical input does a good job of establishing the basic capabilities of the YU6. The most immediately apparent aspect of the performance is that the claimed power output on tap feels believable in use and imbues the Kanto with impressive levels of headroom for a fairly affordable product. The gorgeously emotive and atmospheric Soft To Be Strong by Marina has a level of heft to it that is more than simple bass weight. Vocals are carried with their full weight and power and the supporting piano feels equally well judged in terms of scale. The Edifier R1280DB is a Bluetooth 5.0 speaker made for audiophiles. It comes with high-end components, the latest Bluetooth version, and plenty of inputs (optical audio, coaxial and line-in inputs). You can connect to different inputs simultaneously and use the source feature to swap inputs. Prosonic BT30 Active Bluetooth Bookshelf Speaker The low-ranges of Kanto YU4 are impressive for its size. At high volumes where you can feel a tab boom, the low-range is controlled well. Even at typical listening volumes, you won’t have any issues in the notes. It produces vocals at the level of clarity and crispness. What is the range of Bluetooth? Not only that, but it means you can actually set these speakers somewhere inaccessible and still have control over them. It is pretty useful if you don’t have a lot of accessible space to house the speakers in. You can set them on top of a shelf and still be able to control them with the remote without any problems. No, this isn’t possible. Having multiple connectivity options doesn’t mean you can play sound from different inputs at the same time. The Kanto YU4 handles one input at a time. For instance, if it is connected with TV, you won’t be able to use Bluetooth. How is the remote of Kanto YU4?

We touched on this point when we reviewed them but overall the quality of sound produced by the YU4s is a real pro. They performed well throughout the testing process and really excelled when listening to them up close and personal. If this is something you plan to use them for then we can’t recommend them enough. Analog Connectivity Even when playing music through Bluetooth, the quality was very high. They offer a well-balanced sound and regardless of what genre of music we put through these speakers, the output was great. The phono stage is much more impressive, though. With EAT’s Prelude turntable connected, it is impressively quiet at idle and has no shortage of gain. Listening to Jon Allen’s lovely Deep River is a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The commendable neutrality of the EAT is left intact by the Kanto and while some of the finer details of Hummingbird Blues that I know to be on the record are harder to discern here than on some more expensive setups, the overall balance is extremely enjoyable. There is a Bluetooth pairing button on the remote too so you don’t even need access to the actual speakers to pair up a Bluetooth device. Warranty

Bring movies to life.

Finally, we plugged a turntable in and put their analog credentials to the test. Kanto has included a switch that allows users to change between line and phono inputs, meaning all turntable and record players are catered for. Sonically, there were no surprises in that the listening was very good. We’re always writing about how great Kanto speakers look. Even the YU2 speakers which have been out for a while still look fantastic. The overall found quality from the Kanto YU6 speaker is great however we would like a little more bass. It isn’t bad, just not as good as we thought it would be. However, for casual users, this isn’t a problem and for audiophiles, you can add in a subwoofer easily. Are there any alternatives? Fluance Ai60

The Kanto YU4 excels in design, form, and function. There are also some disadvantages of this product which will be discussed later. Two-way, compact bookshelf speaker design with MDF cabinets, tuned rear bass ports and 1/4-inch mounting hole on bottom That being said, they had a tendency to slightly overly rely on their midrange and never really delivered an outstanding depth of bass. Their size and chassis of course affect their ability to do so, but there are other similar sized options available that have managed it. Since bookshelf speakers are usually not designed by professional companies, as they are focused on big speakers that complete the need for dedicated music space. Overall, these speakers filled the room well and provided impressive performance when streaming both music and movies, but really came into their own when placed a little closer. For this reason, we think they’d make an excellent choice for anyone using them on a desk or who will be sitting close enough whilst listening to fully benefit. Pros of the Kanto YU4Finally, I plugged in a Rega RP1 into the rear of the YU4’s built-in phono amplifier and played Nancy Sinatra’s It’s Such a Pretty World Today from Country, My Way (Reprise). Here we’ll answer the questions and queries we get asked the most about these speakers. Question: Can You Select Inputs Without the Remote Control? One of the big advantages of the YU6 speakers is that they can be paired with a Bluetooth device to play music.
