From the first chapter to the last, I was hanging on to the edge of my seat during the entire book, as Browder courageously tries to find out who was behind the spiderweb of money laundering and murder and why. He has had to keep bodyguards around him whenever he was in a location where the Russians operate relatively freely, and he has had to flee certain countries, like Monaco and Spain, where the FSB has a cozy working relationship with local authorities. This exploration of the dark heart of corruption asks the question of what one person can do in the face of such insidious corruption, and makes us ask what we can find in ourselves to stand up and resist those forces that would steal, decieve and murder for their own gain.
