Explorers should have a full uniform of an Explorer Scout shirt, blue Scout activity trousers or skirt, a Scout belt and the Unit scarf. To become a full member of the unit, and before you can be invested, you’ll need a Explorers shirt or blouse. The Explorer Scouts official long sleeve shirt is a lightweight key element of uniform and has a single breast pocket, a pleated back and buttoned down collar.

The scarf, woggle and badges are supplied by the explorer unit as part of the investiture; the shirt, trousers and belt need to be purchased by the Explorer. The uniform includes a green shirt for Scouts, brown shirt for Explorers and stone shirt for Leaders. For all members of the Explorer Scout Unit, the official Explorers Shirt has a single breast pocket, a button-down collar and a pleated back. We do not consider the Scout Association’s navy Activity Trousers as an essential piece of the Uniform and ask members to wear suitable trousers or shorts depending on the conditions as per meeting and activity.
