Description

The DCS335 boasts a variable speed trigger, allowing you to adjust the cutting speed on the fly. This feature is fantastic when you need to slow things down for intricate cuts or speed up for rough cuts. Next, it was time to try out the saw’s beveled cutting ability. I clamped a piece of ¾” plywood to a work table, set the bevel to 45°, and fired up the DeWalt DCS334. The saw had plenty of power, and had no trouble at all zooming through the cut. Note: Unless you want a “live edge” look for your angled cuts, use a straightedge to guide the saw. The saw worked great for making bevel cuts. Use a straightedge for best results. A freehand bevel cut may end up a tad wavy… Guided cut = straight and smooth. For Pros already on DeWalt’s 20V Max battery platform, the bare tool price is pretty attractive looking around the established Pro models. Ridgid’s price will open some eyes – just remember their 18V lineup isn’t nearly as deep as DeWalt’s 20V Max. The predecessor to the DeWalt DCS334, the DeWalt DCS331, has been around for several years. DeWalt took what was already a very capable tool and updated it – and upgraded it – in several areas. The biggest upgrade to the new version is the brushless motor. It has more power, runs more smoothly, and runs cooler and more efficiently. It’s also faster, at 3,200 SPM (strokes per minute) vs. 3,000 on the older model. The saw also comes with an anti-splinter insert, which can be attached either to the shoe or the no-mar cover. When I used it, the insert tended to come loose. And a removable anti-splinter insert is also included. The DeWalt DCS334 Speeds (Variably) Into Orbit

Example: Let’s say you’re working on a delicate scrollwork project. The DCS335 with its variable speed trigger will let you precisely control the blade speed, ensuring those intricate curves come out perfect. 3. Blade Change and Tool-Free Features DeWalt does away with their cutline indicator and I’m okay with that. The ones on most jigsaws are okay, but you need to look at the blade itself when exact precision is a must. The DeWalt cordless top-handle jigsaw keeps the blade area easily visible so no harm, no foul. The DCS334B features LE light at the top, making it effortless for you to do your work in the dark. This is an amazing advantage since it does not limit when you can work, compared to the DCS331B, which does not have Led light. Can swiftly change bladesKenny’s life around power tools started early. His grandfather was an airplane mechanic in WW2 and took up woodworking as a hobby after retiring from the power industry. Building everything from bookshelves to lazy Susans, he became extremely accomplished while his young grandson observed, fascinated at the way raw wood could turn into something both beautiful and functional. In fact, Kenny still uses several pieces that his grandfather made more than 30 years ago. The DCS334, while more budget-friendly, still offers great value for its performance and build quality.

Also included with the DeWalt DCS334 is a no-mar shoe cover. This is helpful when you’re cutting on surfaces you, or someone with a volatile temper, would like kept in pristine condition. The cover is very easy to pop on and off. A removable no-mar shoe cover helps keep the finish on your finish work… The DCS334 offers a fixed speed setting. It’s reliable for most tasks, but if you need that extra control over speed, you might find it limiting.

Put It To The Floor

Example: If you’re just starting with woodworking or occasional DIY projects, the DCS334 provides an affordable entry point without compromising too much on quality. 8. Warranty and Support Example: If you’re a professional contractor, comfort and ergonomics are paramount. The DCS335‘s grip can make a world of difference during long working hours. 5. Dust Management and Visibility Both the DCS335 and DCS334 typically come with DeWalt’s standard 3-year limited warranty, offering peace of mind against manufacturing defects. Example: If you often work on projects that require precise cuts, like intricate woodworking or installing countertops, the dust blower on the DCS335 can be a game-changer. 6. Battery Compatibility The DCS334, while still comfortable, doesn’t have the same ergonomic design as the DCS335. If you have larger hands or plan on marathon projects, you might notice the difference.
