I was touched by the bonding between Doc, Dolls, and Jeremy too. I’m still a bit concerned that Jeremy’s crushes on Doc and possibly Dolls too are grist for only humor – though gentle – at the gay character’s expense, but to see that Doc and Dolls treat him with genuine affection despite their surface irritation with his overchatty enthusiasm for them is sweet. And yes, also color me intrigued as to why Dolls could physically connect his punch with ghost Marshal Reeves. I wonder if that ability will come into play in the next few eps? It's extremely hard to give a book that talks about homosexuality, feminism and even SA/rape a low rating, but could you imagine how frustrating it is to expect these subjects to be talked about deeply or/and to have a heartbreaking imagery associated with it and to end up having just random thoughts thrown onto the paper, with a writing that neither is polished nor controlled ? So this book focuses more on positive feelings about friendship and self-growth and not destroying yourself to make good art. It’s interesting to see how she’s developing into a simplistic style and how that will work out for her.

Aphrodite Made Me Do It is told from dual perspectives and split into many sections from Aphrodite’s perspective and the poet herself. It is full of photos, doodles, drawings, and amazing things that accompany the poems and make the words pop. They’re all beautiful and colorful, and it adds an extra something to them that makes them stand out. My pain has always deserved a voice and I will not deny it that, but I won’t devote my life to it either. I HIGHLY recommend this to EVERY queer person & ally for the LGBTQIA+ community if you’re in the place to read it (trigger warnings at the bottom) its a beautiful story about forgiveness, dealing with past trauma, and accepting yourself. it’s beautiful, it’s heart wrenching, and it HAS A HAPPY ENDING !!!!
