Description

Boosts the corrosion protection of coatings applied to steel that has been cleaned by blast cleaning or other methods. hydrate 80 provides powerful protection to rusted steel surfaces, its electrochemical function stabilises existing corrosion by converting the iron oxides into a protective metal complex, it also combines with surface moisture and oxygen depriving the corrosion process of the conditions it requires. If you are talking about filling small pitted rust marks you might find that epoxy, then a coat of high build primer is sufficient. The vast majority of our deliveries to the UK and Ireland only take 1-2 days so you don’t have to wait too long to get your hands on all your favourite detailing and valeting products. As with all treatments preparation is important: Remove loose, flaky rust with a wire brush and abrasive paper (or if favoured power tools).

Having said that, the BH deox-gel/deox-C is better if you have the time to use it, making for a longer lasting repair and enables you to use the Electrox zinc coating afterwards. Another cool thing about phosphor acid, if there is still rust left from a treatment, it highlights it with visible black spots and white powder growing over it. Where rapid work progress is required Hydrate-80 can usually be over coated after three hours without performance loss. Boosts the corrosion protection of coatings applied to steel cleaned by blast cleaning or other methods.

Most of the bits have been in Deox C for a while, and they're about 99% rust free, but under the heading of "Belt and braces" I was thinking about treating some parts with Hydrate 80. In that photo, the pot on top was just me seeing how long it took to boil a litre of water (18 minutes in that thermally sub optimal shaped cafetiere if you're curious), and the disc of 10mm steel was just to see how hot a (non chimney blocking) lid would get, then it stayed there as a sort of heat spreader.

Tested extensively by us in development stages, our products come out on top in testing and reviews, across the range. The cross-linking polymer formulated to provide the tough non-rubbery barrier tenaciously grips the metal surface forming an ideal base for further coatings, paints or anticorrosion wax. Well, the tank needed a little more soldering work than I'd expected, and I still wasn't anywhere near happy with the level of my prep work I'd managed to do, but today's been the only time I've felt up to messing about with this in a week (Almost constant mid level dizziness has been dictating what I've been capable of doing without it being too dangerous when I fall over.

Please note that we do not take responsibility for any packages that are left safe or with a neighbour. The chimney doesn't actually look that bad with regards to rust, but the old cracked enamel's still all going to have to come off to make sure nothings lurking underneath. As Hydrate 80 will activate on clean steel the affected area should be cleaned beyond the visibly corroded surface, this will ensure complete treatment. If I paint it onto bare metal, but panels you can see, can fillers and paint to over the top of it trouble free?

Come join the discussion about methods, materials, equipment, restoration, classifieds, troubleshooting, and more! The long-term performance of Hydrate-80 has been proven to significantly increase coating life in independent tests conducted by the German TÜV organisation under conditions of VDA 621-415 (6 cycles, or 1008 hrs) which included exposure to hot salt-spray; 100% relative humidity and drying atmospheres with each cycle lasting 168 hours. Not to diss Hydrate 80 as that also have a place in the world, but for a project like descriped, i would use phosphor acid 100% If you are having problems with it sticking, i have used (i don´t know the exact english word) but its something along; wallpaper pastes?
