In the years since their story ended in BOB: NO ORDINARY CAT James, with Bob's help, has begun to find his way in the world. Eine wirklich wunderschöne Geschichte um den ehemals obdachlosen, heroinabhängigen James Bowen und wie ein Kater sein Leben verändert hat. Soon the two were inseparable and their diverse, comic and occasionally dangerous adventures would transform both their lives, slowly healing the scars of each other's troubled pasts. My Name is Bob is a picture book for young children, written by Bowen with Garry Jenkins and illustrated by Gerald Kelley, published by Random House in the UK in April 2014.

Ich glaube viel mehr kann man dazu aber nicht sagen, irgendwie ist die Story ein richtiger Klassiker und jeder hat bestimmt schonmal was davon gehört. Personally I think that it shows how everyone can change something if he/she finds the motivation to do so and in this case the motivation for James to change his life once and for all was Bob. He was frequently bullied, and began sniffing glue while still in education, becoming a self-confessed “tearaway kid” who would later be diagnosed with ADHD, schizophrenia and manic depression. Soon the public began uploading videos of James and Bob to YouTube, and tourists from across the world would visit Covent Garden to see them. Roger Spottiswoode is a talented director (just look at his CV) and yet he feels a strange choice to direct this. When street musician James Bowen found an injured cat curled up in the hallway of his apartment building, he had no idea how much his life was about to change. We rescued our cat, Miracle, from the middle of Main Street in our town when she was just two weeks old.

When James Bowen found an injured, street cat in the hallway of his sheltered housing, he had no idea just how much his life was about to change. James's support worker Val is wonderfully played out by Joanne Froggatt from Downton Abbey and fans of Mike Leigh films will also recognise Ruth Sheen popping up too.Bob to the Rescue is a second children's picture book, written again with Garry Jenkins and illustrated by Gerald Kelley. As Bob constantly followed Bowen when he was going to work, Bowen bought Bob a harness for safety and allowed him to come along to his regular spots in Covent Garden and Piccadilly Circus, travelling in the window seat of the number 73 bus. Ferris also featured in and produced both tracks and can be seen producing and mixing the track with Bob playing on the audio desk. The Little Book of Bob is a collection of the wisdom James has learnt from Bob throughout the years, as they go through thick and thin together.

I had just recently read the actual memoir of Bob and James and when I realized this was a fictional account, I was curious to see how James translated it into fiction for kids. With barely enough to scrap by, James was skeptical at first to take in a stray cat that showed up at his front door, but Bob’s furry paw quickly melted his heart. In the spring of 2007, busker James Bowen came across an injured ginger tom cat in the hallway of his shelter in north London. So then, this is a worthwhile film providing you aren't expecting to see a) a Garfield film or B) a Trainspotting expose of life as a drug addict. When he realised he wasn't going to find the owner, he released the cat back on to the street, hoping he'd find his own way home. A film was optioned by London-based Shooting Script Films and its producer Adam Rolston, in March 2014.

Yet James couldn't resist helping the strikingly intelligent tom cat, whom he quickly christened Bob. Bob really reminds me of my cat DJ, who is not just my cat, but essentially one of my best friends, like Bob is to James. The charity singles And Then Came Bob [19] [20] and Time To Move On [21] [22] were released by Macaferri Music in 2018. If you have older children eager to read, they might enjoy "Bob: No Ordinary Cat," which goes into the story in more depth. is a picture book in which readers have to spot Bob, James and assorted other items in scenes around the world.Like I said earlier, there is a feeling of compromise to this, like the story was edited for a younger audience but that isn't necessarily a bad thing and it certainly helped James Bowen's book reach out to a mass audience and rightfully become a best seller. He later dropped out of education in his second year of high school, becoming a self-confessed "tearaway kid". Even though I did think that it's a little cheesy to say a cat changed his life, in this case it's the truth.
