Apply the filler in layers, allow each layer to dry before applying another, if you allow he filler to cure naturally you will find it easier to use overall, but you can use hairdryer to speed up the process, just remember that after heating the filler allow it to cool down before touching or applying other layers. I'm still working out the edges of the application to blend it with the leather but it can only be seen if looking for it. The product can be used to fix damage where a long lasting and durable repair is required as it moves and flexes with the leather.This Leather Colourant is manufactured with a built in Sealant for the perfect finish all in one solution leaving your leather items soft and renewed without changing the texture. You can then mix in the tints that come in each kit to make it match perfectly, making the colour darker or lighter. For heavy cracking we recommend that you first apply some leather binder before application, this will strengthen the fibers in the leather and create a longer lasting more durable repair. If you wish to re-color your leather after this repair, we recommend that you lightly level the repair area using 2000 grit sandpaper before applying the color. My 2015 BMW M4 steering wheel had started to show a lot of wear and the surface finish had completely worn through in places. For example, the cream kit can be tinted to match every shade of cream and the kit will also come with tints to match different types of cream: you can add a little red to make the cream more rose/pink; adding yellow will make it a brighter more yellowy cream and white will make it paler; or add black to darken it or turn it into beige. It may therefore be necessary to use a paint or stain for leather and vinyl for an optimal rendering. Heavy Filler is available in black or white, but you can also change the colour of the white filler yourself, adding up to 10% Leather Colourant (matched to the surrounding leather). The GLD Solvent slightly dissolves the surface of the COLOURLOCK Fluid Leather and provides a smoother finish.

Use Mild Leather Cleaner for normal degrees of soiling or Strong Leather Cleaner to remove heavier dirt (where the leather has been neglected for many years). Nonetheless, I used the product as per the instructions and the result is a steering wheel that looks new again. Sand to smooth and/or simulate leather grain by stippling or dabbing the filler to create some texture. Due to its strong absorption capacity, dust, dirt, and even greasy liquids can be removed without leaving any residue.For scratches and general wear-and-tear on the colour surface we recommend smoothing the surface with the COLOURLOCK Leather Sanding Pad and refreshing the colour with COLOURLOCK Leather Fresh. Just apply a small amount to the affected area, allow it to dry naturally or speed up the process with a hair dryer or heat gun, once dry, you can even sand it smooth for a flawless finish. The leather filler product is a dense paste which will naturally solidify over time, we advise to use the filler paste within 14 days of receiving the product. The product filled in beautifully and the only flaws were due to my inexperience at texturizing the final layer (although others didn't see any problems with my repair job). This is simply because this product has been developed to create a better bond with faux leather, creating a longer lasting repair.
