The 95th Academy Awards loom in the distance and film fans couldn’t be more excited since the nominations were announced on Tuesday, January 24th 2023. Looking ahead, the event will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California on Sunday, March 12th 2023. Ultimately, the reason that audiences anticipate the annual event is that it serves as a celebration of some of the previous year’s best films. Directed by Rian Johnson, the film received a theatrical release in late 2022 before arriving on Netflix on Friday, December 23rd. She starred alongside Naomi Watts in James Ivory’s adaptation of Le Divorce by Diane Johnson (2003). He’s Lord Asriel in the 2007 film adaptation of The Golden Compass, which did not do nearly as well as its television series adaptation.

When audiences anticipated Benoit Blanc's return to the silver screen, they likely weren't expecting to see him playing Among Us in his bathtub. However, this lighthearted scene heavily foreshadows that Glass Onion would become a murder mystery of epic proportions. If you didn’t follow Bautista’s wrestling career, then the first time you noticed him was probably in Guardians of the Galaxy, based on the Marvel comics, in 2014. Upon a first watch, audiences were on the edge of their seats as Miles informs Benoit that he didn't invite the detective on his island vacation. Even though Miles casually deflects this "anonymous" invitation, the private detective warns him that anonymous invitations are "not to be trifled with." The filmmaker also suggested that the third film may finally come with his original, intended subtitle: A Benoit Blanc Mystery. In any whodunnit, part of the fun is putting on your own deerstalker hat and trying to guess the ending — and the culprit. But before you spiral into your very own version of the It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia conspiracy meme , Johnson has some advice. “It’s a roller coaster and not a crossword puzzle.”

Curious to learn what Rian’s outrageously entertaining sequel is competing against at the 95th Oscars? The Knives Out movies can craft intricate, complex mysteries while incorporating surprisingly easy solutions that are hidden in plain sight. This is seen in Glass Onion as Benoit and audiences alike realize that Miles' murder mystery game maps out much of the film's narrative. Another impactful way that Glass Onion cleverly teases Miles' ill intent is when Lionel says that Miles is "gonna get somebody killed" after finding his invitation. Upon first hearing this, audiences assumed that Lionel said this due to Klear Hydrogen's dangerous explosive properties.

Glass Onion Knives Out 2: Everything You Need to Know About Glass Onion

Bron's house is an amazing contraption, with a glass dome on top, named The Glass Onion in homage to their old bar. Despite the elaborate setting, the film is shot in the straightforward style of a television mystery. Bron has Matisse and Degas paintings everywhere, and even the actual Mona Lisa, or so he says. Naturally, nothing anyone says here can be taken at face value, and a major plot swerve halfway through changes everything. The baffled Andi is right when she says, "This just never happens in Clue."And it would just be tough for Johnson to top his original film, which was so smart and singular—hilarious, but also legitimately suspenseful. His characters felt richer (no pun intended) the first time around, and his ensemble cast had more to do across the board. “Glass Onion” offers some meaty and meaningful performances, particularly from Janelle Monáe, Kate Hudson, and Daniel Craig, once again doing his best Foghorn Leghorn impression as the intrepid detective Benoit Blanc. And several of his high-profile cameos are a giddy delight. But multitalented actors capable of daring, exciting work, such as Leslie Odom Jr. and Kathryn Hahn, frustratingly go to waste in underdeveloped supporting parts. It's no secret that Blanc is a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Director Rian Johnson even confirmed this fact. But it did come as a pleasant surprise that Grant plays Blanc's live-in partner. This sweet cameo added a little bit of personality to the star detective's life outside his murder investigations.
