Description

Two worlds collide as the epic saga that began with Jurassic Park comes full circle in Jurassic World Dominion. the creatures are insanely complex and their interactions within the environment are second-to-none. Director Colin Trevorrow may be moving on from dinosaurs, but clearly audiences aren't done with them yet.

It doesn’t look like the critical response has had that big an impact on the box office success of the film, though, so clearly the estimates above were a ball park to aim for. Sure, Chris Pratt’s tough guy but animal-sensitive Owen and Bryce Dallas Howard’s headstrong Claire were nice additions to the series, but they just can’t measure up to the iconic legacy characters of the first film. The already infamous Maltese chase scene from Jurassic World Dominion is broken down and explained in "Mayhem In Malta.Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) for an incredible adventure that will determine the destiny of humans and dinosaurs once and for all. Dominion’ is, unfortunately, little more than a re-hashed attempt to broach that theme, relying heavily on the well-worn formula of depraved businessman trying to ruthlessly exploit nature for higher profit margins. Thanks to Australian label Random Space Media, 3D Blu-ray is alive and well with a new 2-Disc 3D Blu-ray release of Jurassic World: Dominion. The two positives to take from the film are that there are a lot of new dinosaurs that sometimes look cool, and you also get to see Alan and Ellie getting together.

However, there are larger forces at play with big business at the centre of a catastrophe plaguing the world. Taking place four years after the destruction of Isla Nublar, the dinosaurs that fled the tropical island are now roaming the earth. The film may be a bit iffy, but the action setpieces and the big dino glory shots make for a beautiful 3D transfer with a solid 5. Battle at Big Rock" (2160p, 10 min) is a short film by director Colin Trevorrow that bridges the events of the previous movie to the plot of this final installment. Struck from a 4K digital intermediate, the freshly-minted transfer reveals the individual hairs and whiskers of the cast, the stitching in the costumes and the surrounding foliage, and facial complexions come with lifelike textures exposing minute, negligible blemishes. GIGA-BITE - Go behind the scenes with the cast of Jurassic World Dominion as they are introduced to the biggest star of the film, the Giganotosaurus, for the very first time.

There is the slightly strange to the downright absurd: Grady and Dearing live in near-adoptive harmony with Blue (a velociraptor, who happens to have pitched up residence near to their isolated cabin). Dominion benefits from a stellar presentation and outstanding detail, afforded a near flawless image throughout, which enjoys its 4K digital intermediate and alternately excellent and terrible CG and animatronics effects work, which seems to at once blend them perfectly into key sequences (the dinosaur being herded through the snow by the truck lights looks utterly spectacular, with a scale to it that hasn't been seen in a Jurassic movie for quite some time, and the Owen / wrangling sequences are also well engineered), but at other times look low budget and unfinished. But for a film that managed to bring back the entire old cast for the first time since the original 1993 classic, this is just a disappointing mess on all levels, wasting so very, very much.

The film is also notable for reassembling not only the major stars of the 3 ‘World’ films, but also those from the ‘Park’ set. For the week that ended on November 19th, Paramount Home Media Distribution's Top Gun: Maverick topped both the the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its third week. As I’ve watched through it a couple more times, much of my dislike has subsided leaving it number four on my scale of the six films - Jurassic Park III has its moments but it was pretty bad, and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is great for a Resident Evil movie but not Jurassic World or Park. It's a watchable film, but it is also deeply flawed, overlong, and frankly not all that interesting. With Arri/Panavision cameras and lenses (reportedly even using Spielberg's original Panavision camera from Jurassic Park as well), it was framed in the same 2.Claire is the former manager of Jurassic World and founded the Dinosaur Protection Group dedicated to saving dinosaurs. The final chapter in the decades-long dino saga dominates Blu-ray with a reference-quality 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 encode that sports razor-sharp definition from start to finish, and even the many CG sequences maintain exceptional clarity. After several skippable trailers, viewers are taken to a static menu with music playing in the background.
