But if she's going to survive in the Royal palace, she'll need to start issuing her own Royal decrees . . . I catch a reflection of myself in the glass cupboard. I’m still as good-looking as ever. I’m charming and hilarious. My body could be on the cover of a magazine, partly thanks to good genes, but I work on it, too—lifting and football. Claire can’t stop chasing after me and it’s been ages since we went out. Nah, I haven’t lost it.” I hope there will be many more books in this series, because I always eat them up like pizza, chocolate and pop corn. Out of the five books, this is probably the tamest. Was it a bad thing? Not really, it's a much needed break after all craziness on Paper Princess until Fallen Heir. The drama was above average and there were times I'm waiting for something exciting to happen. It just felt....constant until the 55%-60% mark where it gets more eventful. As much as I hate Felicity Worthington, that lying, desperate bitch was a great villain. Absolutely worse than Jordan by the way. Kyle was so extra and petty 😂 I can't even. I'm sold with Felicity alone. I love the part when Hartley gave her the dose of her medicine. She's not as feisty as Ella but she stand her ground. (If it's Ella, she'll drag Felicity by her hair). Now that Reed has graduated, I’m the unspoken leader of the defense. If I welcome Mathis, the other guys will follow my lead.”

Eeeeeeep!!! Finally! It feels like we've waited for years for Easton's 2nd book to come out! And here it is. Like I said, I needed another POV, another lens through which I could see his character grow and change. Which brings me to my second so-so. Hartley. Ella is mostly similar to her mother in appearance, which made it easy to pass for her, such as height and similar facial features. Her eyes, like her father's, were described as a bluish-gray that resembled the Reed of the Atlantic ocean. Ella has natural golden hair. Easton had his problems in the previous books; yeah he's a drunk, has an addiction problem, has a thing for his brothers' girlfriends but he had a good side, too.Well, I don't know what to say. I wasn't really a fan of the previous book, especially because I never found a way how to like Hartley. But the HUGE cliffhanger forced me to read this book asap. Well, after finishing my review, I feel like I'm even generous with my rating. Funny thing that I always realize how angry a book made me only when I write the review. Anjanette: Hello Maryse I came to you because you are all-knowing in the book world and I thought I could ask you this question. One of my book friends Tiffany in goodreads is in a major books slump after reading Paper Princess and is wondering are there anymore books like it minus Fallen Crest High. Any assistance you or the blog could give would be greatly appreciated. Have an awesome weekend !!!

I’m the design flaw in the Royal family, the one who isn’t quite like the others, the one who crashes and burns more often than not. Hartley and Easton together, though, completely swoon worthy. They could battle it out with the best of them but when they actually gave in to one another I think my Kindle was going to explode. We're talking sexual tension on ever single line and it had me at the edge of my seat. Everything felt two dimensional. Do you remember, in primary school - teachers or book lovers used to always quote how books let you escape into brand new places and how it builds a world around you? I'm the Royal screw-up who gets into fights and drinks too much and pisses everyone off all the time. My skill, if I have one, isn’t dancing. It’s my ability to believe that tomorrow can be a better day. I don’t really know where I got this optimism. Maybe it was from Mom. Somewhere along the line, I started thinking that if I just got through this bad experience, this bad day, that tomorrow I’d have something better, brighter... I still believe that. I still believe that there’s something good out there for me. I just have to keep going until my time comes, because surely, surely, none of this would happen if there wasn’t a reward down the line.”I quite enjoyed the first half of the book. I loved Hartley's personality and appreciated her struggle as she learned to cope with her new reality. As well, I loved that these authors brought some humanity to Easton by showing us his vulnerability. The second half was different. Not sure exactly what, meaning I can't necessarily name specific things that bothered me, just that it read differently.

We’ve certainly been reminded of some other favorites as we read Paper Princess, bits and pieces, or just the “feel” in general remisncent of some already super popular die-hards.Two. I adored the secondary characters especially Pash and Bran. Pash is Easton's best buddy and comic relief in the book. Brandon is the new guy in Astor Prep and his character is a breath of fresh air full of farts. Privileged Astor farts. I hope he doesn't get screwed over by that crowd and lose his innocence too soon. He's the perfect foil for Easton's rich boy arrogance and privilege. Then the twins and Lauren? I loved twins in the original trilogy; they were fun. And Lauren was sweet, and unlike everyone else in that school, she wasn't a massive b*tch. So I'm asking why?! Why did they have to make a bigger b*tch than Jordan out of her?! Like seriously! And now she is even unable to tell the twins apart? Come on! And the whole making slaves out of them? First, before the twins didn't seem to be that dumb to fall for that. Second, I am just asking why! Fallen Heir focus solely on Easton and Heartlys relationship, which disappoints me, because I really wanted to se Easton evolve as a character- and not just the cliché "changed for the right girl". The book is also fairly repetitive with Easton stating "he doesn’t hurt anyone" and later realizing everything he does hurts someone- over, and over, and over again.. Does this mean he change his behavior you might ask? No. I don't need anything from you. You've caused me nothing but trouble from the moment I met you. All you do is break things.❞
