No, Rollo printers have "Automatic Label Identification." This means you don't need to select a label size in your print dialog box, your printer can identify it automatically. What programs do Rollo® printers work with? For everyday printing, store-brand 20-pound weight paper will usually serve nicely. However, you'll often get better looking output if you step up to a higher-quality paper. For lasers, as well as for inkjet text and graphic printing, that means a heavier weight, and possibly a brighter white level. For photos on inkjets, it means getting matte presentation paper or photo paper. Getting photo or matte paper that's the same brand as your printer will usually be the best choice; printer manufacturers design ink and paper to work together and often offer a variety of presentation and photo papers. The Maxify is geared toward home offices, but it can serve the needs of a heavy-printing family, too. It's all about printing enough, day in and day out, to leverage the low ink costs, since the printer itself, like most bulk-ink/bottle-refill models, is priced on the high side for the feature set. But if you have a home business, plus a family that hits a printer hard for schoolwork or hobbies, it's an excellent longer-term money-saver. When choosing the best thermal printer for you, you need to consider several factors. Most importantly, you need to have clear what you want to do with the thermal printer. Linux and Chromebook support is somewhat rare, while mobile operating systems are supported in wireless thermal printer models only. Paper

The Brother P-touch Cube Plus is misnamed—it's more of a cube minus, shaped like half a cube at 5 by 2.6 by 5 inches (HWD). But that doesn't stop it from being a solid choice. A head-to-head competitor to Epson's LW-PX400, it offers many of the same key features, including an automatic cutter; a similar range of tape widths, from 3.5mm to 24mm (0.14 to 0.94 inch); and the ability to connect to Windows and macOS systems for printing on your desktop, or to Android and iOS devices for printing on the go. Extras for the Cube Plus include a rechargeable battery and faster speed than the LW-PX400. It's rated at 130% faster, and indeed came in faster on our testing, although the results were recorded using different generations of our test protocol, and so aren't fully comparable. Who It's For Theoretically, thermal printers can print in color. However, it’s typically limited to the color ribbons installed in the printer. Another important factor in choosing a labeler is deciding how and where you're going to use it, which helps determine what type of connection(s) you need. Many label printers support more than one connection type, but some support only one, with USB being the most common. Not only is it used for connecting to your computer, but for the many labelers that come with internal batteries, it's one of the more common ways to recharge them. The options available in a printer's preferences and properties will depend on the printer model and the driver it requires for installation.Set the Print Quality to 300dpi. This should match the dpi set in your ShipStation Label Document Options.

Print resolution is measured in DPI or dots per inch. Most thermal printers have print resolutions within the 200 – 600 DPI range. Nevertheless, a high print resolution isn’t always necessary. It largely depends on your application. Print SpeedSpecial-purpose options include label printers, portable printers, and dedicated and near-dedicated photo printers. (Even among specialty printers, 3D printers are a special case, and beyond the scope of this discussion.) Most major printer companies now provide mobile apps so you can snap a photo with your phone and print it out directly, without needing to transfer it to a computer first. Small-format photo printers often support Bluetooth for connecting mobile devices and more. A few printers can connect to a mobile device for printing via Near-Field Communication (NFC) merely by tapping the phone or tablet to a particular spot on the printer, but the NFC fad seems to be fading. Some people might want to invest in a thermal printer for a small business whereas others might need one for a bigger commercial operation. Others might just want to label and organise things around their home. That said, a new Rollo of this model is fairly expensive for not having Wi-Fi capability. But I couldn't see spending hundreds more for one that had Wi-Fi. In this day in age, I think it's practical to expect eve rything to work wirelessly, but that's not the case with all printers, whether ink or thermal. So the Rollo remains connected to my PC, and I can't just print from the app on my phone. Minor inconvenience, but I'll upgrade eventually. To add, the printer is equipped with a Rohm printhead that offers up to 3x better durability than standard printheads. It also drastically improves print speed.
