Such a beautiful story in a beautiful setting. Marietta and it's small town charm really makes me want to head somewhere on a Christmas trip of my own. Scout and his story would bring tears to my eyes thinking how the little guy had fought so hard and just wanted to be a normal kid. Also couldn't help but feel for Willa and her over protectiveness with Scout, how much she had gone through with him just pulls at the heartstrings. Finn was also a wonderful man who adored children and even when learning the truth didn't run from Scout the way his own father had. Following Willa to Marietta, Finn gets more than her bargained for. He suspects a bit of a gold digger. What he gets is a compassionate single mother with a son who is only just in remission from cancer and with big debts to pay. Willa is crushed. She says she was never interested in the money and that their father talked about how much he loved both of them and regretted the choice he made. Liam Hughes portrays Scout Fairchild. The actor’s previous works include ‘Star Trek: Discovery,’‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,’‘V.C. Andrews’ Heaven,’ and ‘Project Blue Book.’ Teryl Rothery essays the role of Mable Bramble. The actor is lauded for her roles in ‘The Outer Limits,’‘The X-Files,’‘First Wave,’‘Masterminds,’ and many more. Other actors in the movie include Andrew Airlie as Ken, Hilary Jardine as Sage, Julia Benson as Molly, and Lyla Marlow as Savannah. A Bramble House Christmas' is not a Christmas classic, but seeing it the amount of effort that went into it was more than evident throughout. Hallmark's Christmas output has been very variable, the best ones being surprisingly well done and the worst being terrible. 'A Bramble House Christmas' in many ways is one of their overall best, with almost everything done remarkably well and only a couple of things done imperfectly which was not unexpected in a way.

Then after the inevitable confrontation, suddenly Molly is totally convinced she was wrong about Willa (because Willa cried and said so and stormed out of the room?). I have seen the Hallmark movie last year and kind of knew what to expect here. The book actually reads exactly like a Hallmark Christmas movie. I didn’t expect to find that I liked the movie more than the book, though. Somehow Scout’s story was thrown under for the average romance with single mom whose son recently recovered from Leukemia and a man trying to find out what happened before his father died. This movie is also a winner because it has multiple storylines going on – it isn’t all just the Willa and Finn relationship. There’s also: xX] Look around you, and then close your eyes. Put everything you just saw into your brain like a picture. That way, you can keep it, even after we've gone. [Xx- For Mable ( Teryl Rothery) and Ken ( Andrew Airlie), who get a second (or 22nd) chance despite her stubbornness. All of the actors turned in strong performances. Reeser and Haydn-Jones had good chemistry together.

Perhaps the ending is a touch on the pat side, common with Hallmark. Do have to agree too that one character's change of heart does not make much sense (if there was any explanation provided it did escape me), is revealed too suddenly. Mr. Conrad's estranged son sets out to prove that Willa has conned his father. Intending to confront her, instead he gets to know her and it's not hard to figure what happens from there. As the movie goes on we find out more about that estrangement and the wounds it has left in him.Overall, this was a great Hallmark movie. There was a clear theme of second chances, which materialized in multiple ways: The character Finn looked good, but with a bad intention in his mind makes a villain, at least in the beginning. The actor who played it kind looked expressionless, even when he smiled. As the story went on, he looked better. Maybe I got used to it. Because slowly his behaviour has changed, leaving us to expect, how he would react at the end. You know without making something into a complicate, there's no end twist. In this, it was his identity and purpose of meeting Willa. That character makes this tale possible. But Willa is the one mysterious until she reveal about her life, particularly the secret about her son. Her character is all over the place. In the beginning, it’s all “Finn angry!” while Molly’s like, “chill, dude, we were never going to be in the will anyway.” After learning this, Finn tells Molly that he no longer plans to challenge the will and tosses the injunction in the trash. Oddly, Molly now seems convinced that Willa conned their father out of the money and, before you know it, she arrives at Bramble House. Anyway, she ends up downstairs, sees a framed picture of her father as a child, and is all like, “I need to find Willa!”

The supporting cast, for the most part, had their moments – including Teryl Rothery (as Mable) and Andrew Airlie (as Ken) – plus Hilary Jardone (as Sage) was strong in her supporting role as Willa’s future BFF. ? The Naughty List ? Did Scout Get That Great Christmas Memory? Autumn Reeser leads the cast of ‘A Bramble House Christmas’ as Willa Fairchild, the protagonist who is tasked with taking care of a terminally ill patient. The actor is famous for her work in several romantic comedies for Hallmark, besides her prominent role in HBO’s ‘Entourage’ and ABC’s ‘No Ordinary Family.’ David Haydn-Jones portrays Finn Conrad, the patient’s son. You must have seen the actor in ‘ Supernatural,’‘ Modern Family,’ and ‘The Last Kiss.’ Finn Conrad wants answers. Egged on by his bitter mother and his concerned sisters, he visits Bramble House to find out why his recently deceased father didn’t tell his children that he was dying and left a family heirloom and money to the young nurse who knew him for only six weeks. A Bramble House Christmas" is a good Christmas film, in the vein of a heart-tugger. It's based on a 2016 novel by Canadian romance and mystery novelist C. J. Carmichael. Like most Christmas and holiday theme movies that have been made in the 21st century and that have real snow and winter settings, this film was made in Canada. It was filmed in British Columbia, although the setting is a fictional town in Oregon. The Cascade Mountains of the Pacific Northwest resemble those of British Columbia. And the Bramble House location in the film would be at least an hour's drive, and perhaps two or more, from Portland International Airport. The scenic drive that Willa and son, Scout, take resembles what one might see in the winter driving around Mt. Hood and in the Cascades. But the nearest towns of any size from there would be Madras, Redmond and Bend about 120 to 160 miles from Portland. The final scene, of the cast all together around the Christmas tree, is also a winner – as is the fade out on that childhood picture of Mr. Conrad hanging on the wall.
