When she meets someone who gets her, through some scribbled notes in the margin of a book in the school library, all that starts to change, and she finds the courage finally to do something about the bullying that has been going on for years by the ‘in crowd’ at her school. One of those books, without hyperbole, that every teen should read. There is so much going on here - dysfunctional family relationships, bullying, coming of age, first steps into relationships - all interweaved with brilliant literary references. It helped that the books referenced are some of my absolute favourites too, of course. Overall,I really enjoyed the YA Mean Girls meets The Perks of Being a Wallflower premise and the ending was absolutely satisfying.Holly Bourne has expertly proven once again, why she’s the Queen of YA fiction.

Honest, authentic and (ultimately) uplifting, Holly Bourne’s The Yearbook will strike a powerful chord with young women on the brink of leaving secondary school. Realistically raw in its portrayal of toxic relationships (from poisonous school peers to abusive partners), with an underdog protagonist readers will wholeheartedly root for, and a sweet, slow-burning romance that will melt the most cynical of hearts, this is classic contemporary YA. Herbert, David Gauvey (2019-05-10). "The School Photo Industry Is a Master Class in Drama". The New York Times. ISSN 0362-4331 . Retrieved 2019-05-23. Yearbooks are generally compiled by a student club or a yearbook class, usually advised by a faculty member. The yearbook staff usually has one or more editors who are responsible for collecting and compiling all of the information to be contained within the book, as well as deciding the layout and allocation of space for each contributor. Wowzers! After every Holly Bourne book you’re convinced that’s her best work... until the next one. This was a brilliant read, I absolutely love YA and there is nobody who does it better. To cope with her awful home life and trying to survive those dreaded school years Paige begins writing and answering messages in the margins of library books, where she meets a kindred spirit.Video games: Hercules Action Game • Animated Storybook: Hercules • Hades Challenge • Kingdom Hearts • Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories • Kingdom Hearts II • Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days • Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep • Kingdom Hearts coded • Kingdom Hearts χ • Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ/Union χ • Kingdom Hearts III • Disney Emoji Blitz • Disney Heroes: Battle Mode• Disney Sorcerer's Arena Some schools distribute yearbooks after the end of the school year—such as in July, at homecoming (US) in October, or at another designated time to include year-end activities. In some cases, yearbooks are mailed to the parents' homes of graduated seniors.

When the school Mean Girls posse - who have spent years systematically bullying anyone deemed unworthy - take over the Yearbook preparations we can see there’s something big brewing. Paige watches in horror as she sees them prepare to leave their legacy...a book full of falsehoods. But, is it up to Paige to call them out? A yearbook, also known as an annual, is a type of a book published annually. One use is to record, highlight, and commemorate the past year of a school. The term also refers to a book of statistics or facts published annually. A yearbook often has an overarching theme that is present throughout the entire book. Beautifully shot, great photography and this is perhaps the movie's greatest success. Sadly some of these shots linger a little too long and some are repeated more than once. Better seen in the movie version for this reason alone. Even so, the story is told as much by these visual shots than the acting out of the story.I really felt like I was right alongside Paige and felt everything she felt. I got so angry at times, I wanted to smash things and I just found it so important in every way. TV Series: Chipacles • Hestia • Icarus • Cassandra • Adonis • Helen of Troy • Tempest • Circe • Triton • Galatea • Pandora • Medusa • Echidna • Typhon • Echidna's Children • Furies • Hecate • Canis and Lupus • Nemesis • Mr. Parentheses • Homer • Fear and Terror • Ibid • Antaeus • Prometheus • Daedelus • Morpheus • Kronos • Gaia • Amphitrite • Achilles • Theseus • Orion • Nestor & Meleager • King Midas • Melampus • Lavina • Ajax • Andromeda • Syrinx • Electra • Mr. Griff • King Minos • Tivius • Orthos • Queen Hippolyte • Momalus • Arachne • Caucasian Eagle • Sphinx Martindale • Gegeneis • Otus • Overall, this book was fantastic. I was worried that it was aimed at a slightly younger audience than some of her other books, but it wasn't. Highly recommend and thoroughly enjoyable There are many lessons to be learnt here and many themes running through this book making it an incredibly sophisticated read. Bullying, domestic violence, mental health, finding strength and being truthful without hurting people are at the forefront. School isn't the best years of your life for some people and this is a timely reminder that that is so - some people really are just trying their best to get through it with minimum fuss. the poor communication still bothers me but they were in high school and Phob was in a stressful situation

My heart really broke for Paige and the horrific things she had to go through. I think this handled the topic of domestic abuse really well. It was sensitively handled and realistic. Disney Animation Building • It's a Small World • Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom • Hercules in the UnderworldPaige tries to live her life under the radar; unnoticed by anyone at school, at home and at the one club she attends. Her best - and only - friend is her Alexa, and she only comes out of her shell one afternoon a week at her Aunt Polly's house. At home, Paige is shoved aside and labelled a nuisance. Her family dedicates all their attention to her brother and all of his achievements, never caring to ask what Paige is doing in her life. And her father makes the home atmosphere tense and suffocating as the mood of their house relies on everything staying perfect in his delicate bubble. Paige's mother's life consists of trying to keep Paige's Father happy, but is blamed as soon as something goes wrong for him, no matter what it is. The romance - well, I think they worked really well as friends. I was actually half expecting Red Pen to be one of the popular girls, to make a point about subversion, but it worked really well this way too. They made a great team and I loved their enthusiasm about books. (It's always the same books though! No one ever loves the less famous novels.)
