Simeticone often comes combined with other ingredients such as medicines to treat indigestion ( antacids) or diarrhoea. When it's combined with other ingredients, brand names include Maalox Plus and Imodium Plus. Key facts You are pregnant, might become pregnant, or think you may be pregnant. You should not take Maalox Suspension during the first three months of pregnancy

Do not give your child more than one 5ml spoonful three time each day give this medicine 20 minutes to an hour before meals and at bedtime. Alternatively give as directed by your doctor. You are allergic (hypersensitive) to dried aluminium hydroxide gel, magnesium hydroxide, simeticone or any of the other ingredients in Maalox Plus (listed in section 6). Tell your doctor or pharmacist if any of the following side effects get serious or lasts longer than a few days. Also tell them if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet: Maalox should not be used in patients who are severely debilitated or suffering from renal insufficiency, or if there is severe abdominal pain and/or the possibility of bowel obstruction.Very rare: Hypermagnesemia, including observations after prolonged administration of magnesium hydroxide to patients with renal impairment Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines. This includes medicines you buy without a prescription, including herbal medicines. Because of the limited maternal absorption, when used as recommended, aluminium hydroxide and magnesium salt combinations are considered compatible with lactation. Maalox Suspension should not be taken at the same time as other medicines. This is because Maalox Suspension can affect the way other medicines work.

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet. You are allergic to aluminium hydroxide or magnesium hydroxide or any of the other ingredients in Maalox Suspension (listed in section 6). Hyperaluminemia is an electrolyte disturbance in which there is an abnormally elevated level of aluminium in the body If your symptoms don't go away or get worse despite taking this medicine you should consult your doctor or pharmacist.When prescribed by a doctor it may also be used for lowering the amount of acid in your stomach or gut (intestine) when you have an ulcer
