Description

Pour a small amount of the dye onto your applicator and gently apply it to a small area to test it before covering large sections of the couch.

For example, if you want a dark brown but the brown dye seems too light, mix a little black die into it.

The dye is easily applied and can be used to re-colour leather products or as a touch up dye for minor repairs. Full-grain – Usually reserved for high-quality items (including saddlery, upholstery and shoes), this comes from the outer layer of the hide. The alternative is chrome-tanned leather, where the hides are soaked in a mixture of acids, salts and chemicals (including chromium) to make them soft and pliable. It’s an essential part of any car interior care kit, and can even be used for vinyl repair and as a leather polish.

LeatherGuru professional Leather Colour Change service – our knowledge and expertise are second to none. If there is any part of your couch that you do not want to dye, such as wooden or metal hardware, cover it with painter's tape. F rom enhancing their original condition to completely chang ing the colour no matter the leather ’ s original colour !Although our all in one dye and sealant offers built-in protection, we recommend finishing your project with our leather protection cream to provide additional protection against staining. Staining a sofa already a dark colour to an even darker one is generally easier than trying to dye a light-coloured sofa a darker one. The leather must be cleaned prior to application, and conditioned after application, our 'Aniline leather colour kit' provides the appropriate products. If the dye is significantly darker in one spot, use rubbing alcohol to take off some of the excess dye.

It's very important to ensure colour gets into all the little crevices etc or the job just won't look right. The kit is specially formulated for very absorbent leather ( Aniline ) which fades gradually and naturally during the ageing process. Unlike other dyes ours has a built-in sealant meaning it will recolour and protect your leather without the need to apply anything else. Additionally, the original colour of the leather also can impact the outcome of the dyeing process, as specific colours may not be able to be covered entirely or evenly by the new dye.Unfortunately it was in red, whilst their kitchen (where the sofa was going to live) had pinks in it. We abide by the Editors’ Code of Practice and are committed to upholding the highest standards of journalism. You should also avoid touching your mouth, eyes, and other sensitive areas to prevent chemical-related injuries.
