My wife got me one of these for Xmas 2011, in April 2012 the switch broke and Bosch collected it for repair. The result of that was that I had to use the apex sanding attachment to get some of the mitres to join correctly and that was a somewhat laborious process.

So far I’ve not had to replace a single part although after one particularly dusty job I had to open it up and clean out the air inlets as it was in danger of over heating. Had mine only 5 months, only used for light work a handful of times and it just stopped dead, checked fuse which was good, no obvious signs of damage to brushes or anything internal! As I’ve owned a Bosch PMF 180 E Multifunction Tool for a few years now I thought it was about time to give it a review.I would recommend using ear plugs or ear muffs when your cutting though as it is a little loud, although it can be tolerated without for periods of time. My guess is that the paper stalls on the work but the head keeps vibrating which tears the fuzz off the back of the paper. Have to say I'm not impressed, it's an expensive tool to be throwing out after using just 6 times but I think that is where it is heading. I found the speed dial on the rear very useful in controlling both sanding and cutting when using the tool and found the weight and size of the tool fit into my hands nicely. br/>The PMF 180 is in no way a white elephant if you need to plunge cut a socket box into the side of a kitchen cabinet or remove a section of skirting boards that are heavily fixed to the wall!

Blue Bosch (Bosch Professional) line – these are professional tools, which meets the highest power, precision and durability requirements. Bosch is now the same "quality" as all other tools - and I have used BOSCH products religiously for 50 years!Dismantled it to find brushes not worn out but in poor condition a small carbon disk from god knows where. I was going to cut some square steel tube with it as well but realised it would be a bit to slow so switched back to the angle grinder instead. Has its uses but could be better, i used it to try and cut under skirting boards and it ended up with be ripping them off anyway as the tool took forever and went blunt. It seems to like cutting in on a diagonal and not being pressed on too hard, but it gets through nice and cleanly.
