When everyone else is flocking to Croatia, you can be somewhere else (just as beautiful but not so crowded) instead. This book would make a great holiday gift for a person who likes to travel, even if that person is you.

So whilst some of the alternatives may be in the same country and reasonably close to each other, such as Avebury and Stonehenge (approximately 25 miles), others will be in different countries, such as Les Arenes de Nimes in France as an alternative to the Colosseum in Italy. There were some unfortunate misspellings and grammatical issues, and the main text used a small light font that, while legible, felt like a chore to read. I particularly like the idea of this book as it will point you to things or places that you may never have heard of, and it might just spark your interest enough to give you a new destination to travel to.This serves as a great resource book for planning your bucket list, especially if you want to be able to go to places that are not so busy with other tourists. This travel book tells you less-crowded places to go where you can have a similar experience to overcrowded tourist destinations. Of course, the irony is that a guidebook encouraging folks to go to some other place selected by the editors may cause tourism to explode there, too.
