It’s perfect, it works, and she’s happy – until a few months in, Joni discovers she wasn’t the only one being deceitful: on Ant’s phone are intimate messages between him and two other women. That made the first third of the book feel quite slow to me because it was essentially setting the scene of Joni’s life and her relationship with Ant. What’s not to love about a plot where three women form a friendship as they plot their revenge on a conman who tries to scam them out of thousands of pounds!

She’s so nervous that she posts fake photos – but when she starts talking to Ant, who’s desperate to meet her, she doesn’t dare come clean. When happily divorced Joni is reluctantly talked into joining a dating app, she is surprised to quickly hit it off with Ant.

The plot started to get juicier and my interests piqued a bit more, but still not as much as it normally would when reading a book by Jane Fallon. Rather than confess her lie, she hatches a plan to 'meet' Ant in real life without revealing who she really is. This is a wonderful read, hilarious, witty and emotional all in one bundle of online dating and finding new friends. The storyline is based around 3 middle aged women dating the same man who as they find out, is a con man.

But it doesn’t take long for her to realise that he is still online dating and intimately texting other women. Fallon has been in a relationship with popular comedian Ricky Gervais since 1982, after they met while studying together at the University College London. She can't confess her lie, but comes up with a plan to 'meet' Ant in real life without revealing their online connection.Ant seems like a rich businessman who is going through a divorce, but the more they spend time together, Joni realises that something is wrong. Love the friendship that the three women made who were being duped by a con artist on the dating site. I didn’t feel that it was the best one I have read by this author and I always eagerly anticipate the latest one. Als Ant haar mee uitvraagt, durft ze hem niet te bekennen wat ze gedaan heeft, dus doet ze alsof ze hem laat zitten om hem vervolgens ‘als zichzelf’ te ontmoeten. Normaal gesproken komt Jane altijd met een heel sterk plot, maar dat ontbrak deze keer voor mijn gevoel.

Overall: not one for me, nor would I personally recommend it, but it's got fairly good reviews so worth a go if you like the sound of the synopsis. I really liked the ending of this book, it left me very satisfied with the outcome and it was well deserved. Uiteindelijk leert ze hem kort daarna 'spontaan' in het echt kennen, zonder dat hij weet dat ze al eerder met elkaar op de datingapp hebben gesproken. She then concocts a plan, to accidentally meet Ant in real life without revealing who she really is.As much as I loved watching them make Ant squirm, I REALLY loved the moments where the women were all together and just having the best time as friends - and I definitely had some warm fuzzies going on by the end!

Full of charm, excitement and the humour splashed throughout adds this certain charisma that makes it so relatable.I throughly enjoyed this book, a total easy read which I would look forward to ‘tucking into’ before bed every night.
